Last Blast of Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop. This month our theme is the Last Blast of Summer. I really had to think about this. I’m in Upstate New York and believe it or not in August we start to have some cooler nights. Hints of fall start to poke through and you can almost feel it in the air.

So here’s my card…

With the cooler days comes sweet breezes, time gazing at the blue sky and sweet clouds, trying to make out different shapes and objects. Hence the clouds.

My card starts with Pool Party and is then layered with vellum. I used the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set to create my clouds. Because this stamp set is photopolymer, when I inked them up and applied them to the vellum, they almost slid a little bit which I kind of liked. The lines weren’t crisp, which, is perfectly like a cloud.

To create my kites I used the Swirly Bird Stamp Set. I stamped them in Peekaboo Peach, Crumb Cake, and Wild Wasabi. I fussy cut them out, but before adhering them, I stamped some kite tails and some bows in Chocolate Chip.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set in Pool Party.

Yes, I used a total of three different stamp sets for this card – sometimes one (or even two) just don’t cut it.
