Stampin’ Up! Ugly Sweater Card

Recently my upline held a little fun challenge for her downlines, ready… An ugly sweater challenge.  How fun, right?!

You’d think making an ugly sweater card would be easy, but it ironically was challenging.  Making something ugly goes against everything I try to do.

So here we go.

Ugly sweater #1:

In case you didn’t get a good enough view to appreciate the ugliness…

Stampin’ Up! Snowman

The other day I posted a card in which I stamped a snow background onto Early Espresso cardstock.  You can see that card here.  Before I settled on the Early Espresso, I started out with Basic Gray cardstock.  In the end I didn’t use it.

When thinking about my card today, I saw the Basic Gray stamped with snowflakes and decided to use it.  After all, you can’t wait a well snowflake stamped card!

So I used Basic Gray as my base and stamped the snowflakes from the Greetings with Santa stamp set in White Craft Ink.

snowman-stamp-it-up-with-jaimieI created my snowman using the Swirly Scribbles Framelits.  I cut out the three different sized circles in Whisper White and then trimmed them down a bit.  Before adhering it to the Basic Gray, I placed a piece of Real Red cardstock underneath it.

Over the snowman’s neck I placed a Real Red ribbon knot.  Towards the bottom I placed a strip of Basic Black banner.  I then used the Mountain Adventure’s sentiment which I stamped in Versamark and sprinkled with White Embossing Powder which I then heat embossed.  I cut it out using the Layering Ovals.

Enjoy!

The inspiration for today’s card comes from The Paper Players challenge this week.

Happy December 25th

The inspiration for today’s card comes from the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

My card uses Garden Green as its base and then is layered with a pattern from the This Christmas DSP over some Very Vanilla.

this-christmas-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

I created my numbers using the Layering Circles (Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla) and the Number of Years Stamp Set (Garden Green) and coordinating framelits.  Underneath the 25 I cut out a banner in Garden Green using the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

I then used the Labeler Alphabet to create my “Happy December.”  Before adhering the circles, I wound around the DSP some Garden Green Baker’s Twine a few years.

Christmas Pines – Window Spray

These last few days have been a bit of a whirlwind, the good kind.  The kind that you come away from saying – That was so much fun!

But I was finally able to get back into my craft room today and create and it felt so good.

Now the inspiration for today’s card was not my own.  I came across a beautiful non-Stampin Up card on Pinterest and knew I wanted to create one similar.  So just a heads up that it’s not completely original.

My card uses Early Espresso as its base on which I stamped the snowflake trio from the Greetings from Santa Stamp Set in Early Espresso.  I then used the Hearth & Home Framelits to cut out a window and window box in Very Vanilla.

christmas-pines-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

I then created a window spray using the Christmas Pines Bundle.  I used a variety of greens (Always Artichoke, Garden Green, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz), browns (Crumb Cake, Soft Suede), and Cherry Cobbler.  I added a few rustic bows using Linen Thread and the Gold Baker’s Twine from the Trio of Baker’s Twine.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set and mounted it over a pattern from the This Christmas DSP.

Enjoy!

Greetings from Santa with Stitched Framelits

Happy post Thanksgiving!  Are you in a turkey coma today?  Did you go out shopping last night/this morning?

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.

For my card today, I’m going to be honest, I was a little hesitant to share.  But alas, I was so busy with Thanksgiving prep and kid’s school events this week that a card for today just didn’t happen.  So I’m sharing a card that we made at my November Make & Take party.

Why the hesitation?  Because it uses the Stitched Framelits which are non-orderable right now.  So if you didn’t snatch them up, consider this is a tease for when they are orderable again.

So here we go…

The base for my card is Garden Green.  I then took a pattern from the Warmth & Cheer Stamp Set and layered it on some Basic Black.

greetings-from-santa-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

I cut out four circles with the Stitched Framelits, one in Basic Black, one in Garden Green, and two in Whisper White.

greetings-from-santa-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-up

I used the Greetings from Santa Stamp Set to create my trees.  I inked up the tree stamp in Garden Green and stamped twice the tree on the Whisper White, giving it a darker and lighter effect.  The sentiment comes from the Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set.  Behind it, I placed a little Basic Black banner and some Gold Thread.

Enjoy!

My card today uses Garden Green as a base.  I then layered some Soft Suede cardstock which was dry embossed in the Woodland TIEF on Whisper White cardstock.  I then took a pattern from the Warmth & Cheer DSP and adhered some Linen Thread around it in a bow.

Next I created my sentiment from the One Big Meaning Stamp in Delightful Dijon.  I cut the Whisper White out using the Stitched Framelits and the Delightful Dijon cardstock using the Layering Ovals.

Last, I layered the sentiment with a little fox.  His body was stamped in Crumb Cake, legs in Soft Suede, and eyes and nose in Momento Black.

Heart Greetings

Today I’m bringing you a simple CAS card.  With Thanksgiving tomorrow, I thought I’d keep it quick and sweet.  Will you be cooking?  I will and I. Love. It.

Not only that, but I was reminiscing about the good ‘ole Designer Series Paper and stamp sets from the Annual Catalog.  Okay, that may be bit of an exaggeration, but I’ve hardly picked up these goodies since the Holiday Catalog came out.  So, today I wanted to feature them and remind us what great products they are!

My card uses Sweet Sugarplum as a base to the card.

suite-sayings-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

I took two patterns from the Blooms & Bliss DSP.  The one on the top I matted on Rich Razzleberry and the one on the bottom I layered with Blushing Bride.

suite-sayings-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-up

My inspiration for the card is this week’s Can You Case It Challenge, so I punched out some hearts using the Sweetheart Heart Punch as my little detail in Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, and Blushing Bride.

141-300x300

The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut out using the Layering Ovals.
