Moon Baby – Twinkle, Twinkle Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop challenge is a sketch challenge.

My card today starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I then used two patterns from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP to layer over the Bermuda Bay.  In the middle of the card, overlapping both patterns, I stamped in Early Espresso ink the star image from the Moon Baby stamp set.

Using the Stitched Framelits and Bermuda Bay cardstock, I cut out a square and layered it to the left of the card.  I stamped the baby image from the Moon Baby stamp set in Archival Black ink.  I colored it in using a Blender Pen and So Saffron, Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso, and Sahara Sand ink.  Once colored in, I fussy cut it out using a Paper Snips and adhered it over the stitched square.

Using the washi tape technique, I stamped my sentiment on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered it to the card (the end using Stampin’ Dimensionals).

Enjoy!

  2. Just adorable, I love the way you combined the DSP. I will certainly miss that paper. Just such a sweet card and I am going to CASE this one. I need ideas for cards for my local pregnancy center. I used to work there and we give the clients a card with their ultrasound pictures!

  3. Love your card, Jaimie! The DSP is perfect and your coloring on the moon and baby is fabulous. I have this set but have been afraid to tackle the coloring. You have inspired me to give it a try!! 😀 TFS

    • Thanks so much! For the washi tape technique: If you look at the sentiment I used, you’ll notice it’s actually on two lines instead of straight across and I wanted it to fit my long strip of Very Vanilla. To achieve this, I first took a strip of Washi Tape and covered the “little star…” part of the sentiment. I inked it up (with tape on) in Early Espresso ink. I took the washi tape off and stamped the “twinkle, twinkle.” By covering the second line of the sentiment, only the top line got stamped. Then, I took another strip of Washi Tape and covered the “twinkle, twinkle.” I inked up the sentiment (tape on) in Early Espresso ink. I removed the washi tape and stamped the “little star…” part of the sentiment next to the “twinkle, twinkle.” This technique works great if you only want to stamp a portion of or re-arrange a sentiment. Good luck!
