Happy Father’s Day

This month’s theme for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop is “Masculine Projects.”  Enjoy hopping around to see what everyone created.

My masculine card today is a monochromatic Father’s Day Card.  It starts off with Dapper Denim cardstock.  I then cut strips of Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, and Island Indigo cardstock and adhered them over a panel of Whisper White cardstock.

I used the Lift Me Up Bundle to cut out a few clouds in Whisper White cardstock and also cut out the smallest hot air balloon in Night of Navy cardstock.  I dabbed Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, and Island Indigo ink with a baby wipe over the larger of the two hot air balloons, cut it out, and adhered it to the card.  I covered the “Congratulations” part of the sentiment with some Washi Tape and inked it up with Night of Navy ink.  I removed the washi tape and stamped the sentiment on Whisper White cardstock.

Lastly, I created the “Happy Father’s Day” using the Thoughtful Banners Bundle and Island Indigo ink.

Enjoy!

  1. I love the strips you made to create your own DSP. It looks as if it is one sheet, and makes a beautiful backdrop to the hot air balloons. Great technique with the baby wipes, too. Nicely done!

  2. I have yet to try the baby wipe technique. If I do and it comes out looking like yours, I will be most happy! Great job on making all the elements of this card. The paper strips are genius.

  3. Lovely card! At first I thought you used the new Color Theory DSP, then realized it does not have those colors. Great idea. I probably would never have thought of that. Love the Lift Me Up set. And monochromatic is always a winner with me.
