Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Chums

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s MFT Card Sketch Challenge.

Today’s card starts off with Basic Black cardstock with a pattern from the Spooky Nights DSP adhered over the card front.  I then took another pattern and matted it on some Basic Black cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I then took a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock and matted it on Basic Black cardstock.  I stamped the pumpkin from the Seasonal Chums stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored it in using the brand new Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers.  I used the Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive markers to color it in.

What I like about the markers after playing with them for a bit is: 1. They can be used with Whisper White paper – no watercolor paper needed; 2. They don’t leave lines when coloring in; 3. They’re forgiving – I’m by no means an expert in coloring and I found them easy to use; 4. A Color Lifter was offered for any “oops” you may make.  As soon as they are available to customers I promise to let you know!

I fussy cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth of the Jack-o-lantern and cut out a small piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to adhere to the back of it.  I cut out the pumpkin and the leaves (Old Olive cardstock) using the Seasonal Tags framelits.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a strip of Pumpkin Pie and snipped the end in a banner.
