Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Peacock Birthday Card

I love Tuesdays…they’re my favorite day of the week.  Happy Tuesday!

Although I do work as a medical transcriptionist on Tuesdays, I don’t teach Spanish today and don’t have anything scheduled on a regular basis.  It’s my day to get caught up on errands and craft projects.  It’s my most productive day out of the week and I LOVE it.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?

Today’s card project is a very special one.  It’s a birthday card for someone I dearly love.  I always find when you make a card for someone specific in mind, they’re super special.  You know their favorite colors and style and it’s made with extra love!

I started off with some Berry Burst cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped in two lines the two feather images from the Beautiful Peacock Stamp Set in Berry Burst, Melon Mambo, and Powder Pink ink.  I also stamped some of the really small circular images around the feathers.  I matted this on some Powder Pink cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set in Versamark Ink on some Berry Burst cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool.  I separately stamped the “here’s to celebrating you” in Berry Burst ink on some Powder Pink cardstock and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  It adhered this using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s The Paper Players challenge and Sunday Stamps challenge.

JOIN THE FUN!

Three yeas ago I found myself so frustrated because my wish list was a mile long and I wanted it all…yesterday!

I signed up for the discount in the hopes that the business would fund my hobby and I would see what it took me.

Three years later, I’m having so much fun, sharing the art of paper crafting, meeting new friends along the way, and getting lots of free/discounted goodies.

Paper crafting for me is two fold:  1) It’s something I do for me.  As a mom and wife, my life is consumed with the needs of others.  Setting aside time to craft is something I NEED for my own wellbeing.

2) I get so much joy from sending cards.  A simple envelope with a stamp and a card inside has the ability to completely change someone’s day around.  That IS why I do what I do.

Don’t miss out on this perfect time to join my team!!!  Do something for yourself, bless others and enjoy the positive environment that my team offers!

  1. Very pretty card. Love the colors together. You’re right, when you make a card for someone specific, it comes out extra special and you can see the loving touch. Much more personal.

  2. You are so creative! I love those feathers as the flourish surrounding the sentiment. It’s a special card that your special someone will love! Happy Tuesday! Even though I’m retired, Fridays are still my favorite day.

  3. What a pretty card using such a versatile set! It’s fun to see sets that I sort of “gloss over” in the catalogs used IRL that really knock my socks off! Those swirls are not just feathers, I can see! So happy that shared this with us this week at the Paper Players! And I would have to say that even though I have most all days off, Friday is still a fun day for me…the weekend is ahead!

  4. Oh Jaime, this card is the PERFECT use of that peacock set – I want to love it but when I sit down with it I haven’t been as thrilled as I want – your flourishes are just perfect with it! Totally trying this, lol. Thanks so much for sharing at Sunday Stamps!

  5. I love your chosen colour palette Jaimie and your use of the peacock flourishes without the peacock is genius! I’m sure the intended recipient will love it, especially as it’s been made with them in mind. Favourite day of the week? Well, no two are ever the same but I think I would say Monday – it is usually my most productive day at least! Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!

  6. Your color combo is wonderful and I really love it when you can stretch stamps and make something so totally different (other than a peacock) that is just perfect. Thanks so much for sharing over at The Paper Players this week!
