Stampin’ Up! Boy’s Birthday Card

Today my son turns 10!!!  … Double Digits!

It’s a big deal.  If you’ve followed my blog over the past couple of years, you’ll know that I go all out decorating for birthdays.  Balloons.  Streamers.  Beds decorated.

And I always try to think about their interests and what they’re into for both their decorating, as well as their birthday card.  My son is really into black and lime green right now, so that’s what I went with!

Of course I had to match the card to the decorations.

My card starts off with Basic Black cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

I stamped the bike using the Bike Ride Stamp Set and cut it out using the Build A Bike Framelits Dies.  I used Memento Black and Lemon Lime Twist ink.  I also cut out the Lemon Lime Twist banners using the framelits.

I stamped the dots using the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and cut the balloons out using the Balloon Banquet Punch.  I tied Black Baker’s Twine around them and tied a knot around the handlebars of the bike.  I adhered the balloons down with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered the bike (minus the tires) down in Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment comes from the Sunshine Wishes Stamp Set and was stamped in Memento Black ink.

Enjoy!

  1. I love your card. It is so perfect as all your cards. It is always a joy to see your post with another creation. So clean and fresh looking, not like a 10 yr. old after a while bike riding. Happy Birthday to your 10 yr old. Enjoy each moment. The time will go much too soon.
