Stampin’ Up! Tropical Chic New Home Card

You might see today’s card and think – tropical theme and a new home card?!

They don’t go together.

And you’d probably be right, but this card was designed with someone very special in mind.  My aunt is moving from the New England area to Florida, and they’re looking forward to the warm, ocean-y, palm tree atmosphere that this brings.

My card starts off with Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  I then adhered over it a pattern from the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.  I loved how Karren, from the Global Design Project’s design team, did her sentiment along the side and thought I would follow her lead.  I stamped the sentiment from the At Home With You stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink on a small panel of Whisper White cardstock.

I then stamped the leaves from the Tropical Chi stamp set in Granny Apple Green and Soft Sea Foam ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut them out using the coordinating Tropical Thinlits.

I tied a Granny Apple Green ribbon to go over the leaves and added a few Granny Apple Green Glittery Enamel Shapes.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
