Stampin’ Up! Come Sail Away Water Wash Background

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Pretty Peacock cardstock.   I then took a panel of Shimmery White cardstock and squeezed water all over it using an Aqua Painter.  I then added color to it in layers.

Using the Aqua Painter I first put Pretty Peacock ink in the middle of it.  Then I added Blueberry Bushel to two corners and Old Olive to the other two.  I dried it with the Heat Tool and repeated this.

In doing this a few times, you get deeper colors, as well as different water marks on your paper.  I then matted this on Blueberry Bushel cardstock.

I used the Sailing Home Stamp Set and stamped the anchor and “thanks” in Blueberry Bushel ink.  I cut them out, as well as the Old Olive label and Pretty Peacock seaweed using the coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies.

Lastly I cut the edge off the Pretty Peacock Scalloped Ribbon and adhered it under the label and wound some Blueberry Bushel ribbon in the anchor.

Enjoy!

  1. You did it again, Jaimie! That is, you did the unexpected. Great way to use the colors in a fantastic way. Who would have thought to use just the anchor and seaweed, and in those colors. Beautiful card.
