This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a theme challenge and it’s all about springtime.
Being that the theme is springtime – I went with a sweet nest of baby robins. I know exactly who I’m mailing the card today – someone that has bird nests in their back yard so I thought this was perfect!
My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock, which I covered with a pattern from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.
I then took a panel of Basic White cardstock and using a Blender Brush added just a hint of Balmy Blue color to the top. I then matted this on Balmy Blue cardstock.
I stamped the images from the Birds & Branches Stamp Set in Crumb Cake (nest), Balmy Blue (eggs), Memento Black (bird) and cut them out along with the branch (Soft Suede cardstock) using the Birds & More Dies. For the belly of the bird, I colored it in using Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends (a huge shout out to everyone who helped me over on Facebook match a good color for the belly).
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink and cut it out using the coordinating Floral Gallery Dies and added a bow next to the nest.
Thanks for checking out my project today!!!
