cyber-monday black-friday

Phew, that was a lot of information.  I promise you – it’s well worth it!

Now, on to my card.

Fitting for Thanksgiving week, I’m bringing you a Thank You card.  My card uses Chocolate Chip as its base and is layered with Whisper White.

I then used the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set to create my tree.  The trunk and branches, rake, and ground are stamped in Chocolate Chip.  For the leaves I stamped them in Pumpkin Pie and then rolled the edges in Cajun Craze.  I then inked the leaves in Delightful Dijon and stamped off first.

I tied a bow along the left side in Delightful Dijon and then layered the sentiment over it.  I used Delightful Dijon, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White cardstock to create my layering and the stamp One Big Meaning cutting them out with the Layering Circles.

My card was inspired by this week’s inspiration TGIF Challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving

Welcome to this month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop!  The theme for this month is Winter Holiday.  How fun!  We could choose from Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

I went with Thanksgiving.

I love Thanksgiving.  For a few years now we’ve hosted and I love the day start to finish.  I love cooking the meal with tons of yummy sides.  I love a beautiful table scape with candles, pumpkins, and gourds.  So to go along with this, I decided not to create a card, and instead a place card, napkin holder, and favor.

Here we go…

For all three I used a pattern from the Petals & Paisleys DSP and colors Mint Macaron, Very Vanilla, and Delightful Dijon.

Let me break down each one…

My place card uses Very Vanilla to work off of to which I layered it with a pattern from the Petals & Paisleys DSP.  Then I added a Delightful Dijon ribbon knot.  I cut out a Mint Macaron petal from the Paisley Framelits and adhered it to the ribbon using Linen Thread.

For my napkin holder, I used the same DSP pattern to create a belly band around the napkin and then punched out a Mint Macaron Decorate Label.  I stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set and snipped the ends in a banner.

Next I created a tea light Thanksgiving favor for my guests.  I saw this great idea on this blog and decided to go for it! It’s super easy to create with the metric side (flip over the inches side and you’ll have centimeters) of grid paper you my have on hand.

First trim your cardstock at 28.5 x 5.  Along the long side, score at 8, 10, 18, 20, and 28.  In the square that will be your window, cut out a 2-1/2″ circle.

Next cut another cardstock 11.6 x 11.6.  Score each side at 1.9.  Now just assemble!

My favor uses Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, and Very Vanilla cardstock and the same patterned DSP.  I use the same petal from the place card above.  This time I used a sentiment from the Very Acorny Stamp Set and add a Cajun Craze enamel circle and tie the box closed with Very Vanilla Lace.

Totally Trees – Birthday

Before I show you my card, I first need to show you my inspiration, this week’s challenge over at Sunday Stamps.

Okay, now that I’ve showed you that, we can move on to my card…

I started with Early Espresso as my base and layered it with Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla.

I then took the Woodgrain embossing folder and dry embossed a piece of Crumb Cake and cut it into 3 separate pieces.  I took a pattern from the Petals & Paisleys and cut it in a strip and layered it with some Very Vanilla Lace Trim.

Next I used the Totally Trees Stamp Set to create my tree which I cut out using the Layering Oval Framelits.  I initially wanted to do the Baby Wipe Technique; however, I realized you have ink refills for this technique.  So, I made my twist on this technique.  I used a dry paper towel and picked up some color (Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze) on it and just kind of smeared the stamp in different spots with each other and voila!

I created my sentiment using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set in Pumpkin Pie.

Do you remember the last time you received a card in the mail? In a sea of junk mail and bills, a card is a simple thing that really stands out to the person who receives it. Sending a card is a small gesture that shows just how much you care about that special someone in your life. With World Card Making Day coming up on October 1, celebrate by making and sending a handmade card to someone who could use a little recognition, love, or just a boost (which is anyone, really!). In celebration of World Card Making Day, from October 1-5, you can save up to 25% on cardmaking essentials that can be used to share your love all year long!

SNEAK PEEK – Paisleys & Posies

If you’re swinging by from Amy’s blog – Welcome – Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog.

For today’s card, I’m using the new Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set – a beautiful stamp set included in the Petals & Paisleys Suite from the 2016 Holiday Catalog.

Today’s card uses the colors Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, and Chocolate Chip.

Paisleys & Posies - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

I used the Watermelon Wonder as my base color and then layered it with the Peekaboo Peach.  Using the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set, I created my own patterned paper.  I first stamped the bigger stamps and then each time stamped a smaller image.

Paisleys & Posies - Stampin Up - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

Honestly, I loved the pattern so much I really didn’t want to embellish it more and just heat embossed the sentiment in white over Watermelon Wonder.  As much as I love the paisleys in this stamp set, I honestly would’ve bought the set solely for this sentiment.  You’ll be seeing it a lot – I just love it!
