Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons

Before I get into today’s card, if you happen to be seeing this bright and early, be sure to swing by my Facebook page today at 10:00 am EST.  I’ll be going live showing how I made yesterday’s Trick or Treat card using the new Stampin’ Blends!

If you miss it live, the video will stay posted so still swing by and check it out!

Today’s card is a quick, but sweet “Thinking of You” card which is really a thank you card.  Customers who placed orders this past week received this card in the mail with a message on a Post-It Note, leaving it blank for them to fill in and re-mail.

I recently bought the Colorful Seasons stamp set when it was on sale earlier this month, but didn’t have the coordinating thinlits….yet 😉

So I had to create a card that showcased the stamp set without the need to cut any leaves out.  Easier said than done and I, once again, have such an appreciation for thinlits/framelits.

My card starts off with Crushed Curry cardstock.  I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock (which will be layered on Pumpkin Pie cardstock) and created my falling leaves using the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I took the smallest leaf and inked it up with Crushed Curry and then sort of tapped the edges on some Peekaboo Peach ink.

I did the same technique with the bigger leaf on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I inked up the outline leaf image in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with Gold embossing powder, and heat embossed it.  I cut this one out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then matted a Gold Foil Sheet square behind it.

I inked up the sentiment in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with Gold embossing powder, and heat embossed that as well.  I wound around some Gold Thread behind the square and adhered it to the card.

Enjoy!

Here’s the bunch of cards that went out in the mail.  It honestly brings me so much joy!  Remember what I always say – Don’t hoard the cards – mail them!

Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Chums

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s MFT Card Sketch Challenge.

Today’s card starts off with Basic Black cardstock with a pattern from the Spooky Nights DSP adhered over the card front.  I then took another pattern and matted it on some Basic Black cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I then took a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock and matted it on Basic Black cardstock.  I stamped the pumpkin from the Seasonal Chums stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored it in using the brand new Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers.  I used the Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive markers to color it in.

What I like about the markers after playing with them for a bit is: 1. They can be used with Whisper White paper – no watercolor paper needed; 2. They don’t leave lines when coloring in; 3. They’re forgiving – I’m by no means an expert in coloring and I found them easy to use; 4. A Color Lifter was offered for any “oops” you may make.  As soon as they are available to customers I promise to let you know!

The Stampin’ Blends will be available to all customers to purchase beginning November 1st!!

I fussy cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth of the Jack-o-lantern and cut out a small piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to adhere to the back of it.  I cut out the pumpkin and the leaves (Old Olive cardstock) using the Seasonal Tags framelits.  I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a strip of Pumpkin Pie and snipped the end in a banner.

Enjoy!

Giving Thanks Blog Hop

This month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop theme is “Giving Thanks.”

One of my good friends recently had a birthday and I decided to make her a decorative picture frame.

I purchased the picture frame at a local Home Goods store (love them!).

I created each of the elements using the Count My Blessings stamp set.

I stamped the flower, leaf, and acorn elements first in Archival Black ink on Watercolor Paper.  I then used Crushed Curry, Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive inks and an Aqua Painter to color them in.  I then fussy cut them each out using Paper Snips.

I wrapped around the picture frame some Crushed Curry Ribbon.  I then stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink on the Watercolor Paper and then cut it out using the Stitched  Shapes  Framelits.  I adhered each of the elements using Tear & Tape adhesive.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Pick a Pumpkin & Count My Blessings

Today’s card was inspired by challenges this week at Sunday Stamps and Fab Friday.

Today’s card starts off with Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Tranquil Tide cardstock and adhered it to the card.

I cut out two (almost) squares.  I cut out two Whisper White panels and stamped the sentiment from the Count My Blessings stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink on the smaller one.  I matted that one on Rich Razzleberry cardstock and the other on Tranquil Tide cardstock.

I cut out the pumpkin and leaves using the Patterned Pumpkins Framelits and Rich Razzleberry, Tranquil Tide, and Cajun Crazy cardstock.  I adhered the leaves behind the sentiment with a piece of Burlap ribbon and then the pumpkin towards the bottom.  I added a few gold sequins and enamel shapes to finish it off.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Chums

Today’s card is a simple, but cute Halloween card.  I recently won this fun Seasonal Chums Bundle from the *best* upline ever Amy.  We have a great, great team and if you’d like more information on what joining looks like, click here.

My card today starts with Old Olive cardstock.  I then took one panel of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut a circle out of it using the Layering Circles Framelits.

Now to get the circles cut out of the Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive cardstock so it aligned perfectly, I had to be a bit creative.  I put the Very Vanilla first over the Pumpkin Pie cardstock after having aligned them up – not adhering them yet.  I took a pencil and marked in four spots where the circle would be and then took the Pumpkin Pie cardstock, lined up the framelit, and cut out the circle.  I did the same thing to the Old Olive cardstock.  I adhered a piece of Vellum paper between the Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then adhered everything together.

I cut out a strip from one of the patterns in the Spooky Nights DSP for my first layer.  Next I stamped the pumpkin in Archival Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock.  I colored it in using a Blender Pen and Pumpkin Pie (pumpkin), Daffodil Delight (jack-o-lantern part), Old Olive (leaves), and Crumb Cake (stem) inks.  I cut it out and a few leaves from Old Olive cardstock using the Seasonal Tags framelits.  I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla cardstock in Old Olive ink and decorated the leaves around it.

Enjoy!

My whole purpose, really, in cutting out the circles from the framelits was to be able to have a cute detail on the inside of my card.  I added a strip of the same pattern from the Spooky Nights DSP and the back stamped and colored in version of the pumpkin.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

Stampin’ Up! Merry Cafe

Today’s card is inspired by challenges this week at Global Design Project and What Will You Stamp.

My card today starts off with Real Red cardstock.  I took a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock and matted it on Whisper White cardstock.  I used the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and cut out a Whisper White circle and then cut off the edge of it a bit.

I cut out a pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP and adhered it on the card.  I then used the leaf stamp from the Merry Café stamp set and Crumb Cake ink and stamped rolling leaves across the Crumb Cake cardstock.  I first stamped the leaves all across the Crumb Cake cardstock and then adhered the stitched circle, lined up the leaf, and stamped across the Whisper White circle.

I then created my cup of apple cider using the Merry Café stamp set and the coordinating Coffee Cups framelits.  I stamped the cup in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink on it.  I then cut out the cup holder from Real Red cardstock and the lid from Whisper White cardstock.

Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Autumn Home Decor

Friday night I had my Holiday Catalog Party!  We had so much fun, lots of laughs.

We made two cards (which will be featured on my blog this coming week), played a few games, and I also had door prizes for everyone.  Among the goodies I had Designer Series Paper, embellishments, a few of my homemade cards, and I also created a cute tag for a pumpkin.

I loved it so much I almost didn’t include it in the prizes as I wanted to keep it myself.

I figured I’m probably not the only one who would like one and have decided to sell them.  I love this idea for teachers, neighbors, family, or just to add to your fall decoration.

If you are local (Upstate New York and can pick up) the pumpkin and tag is $6 and if you need it shipped, the cost of the tag is $5 – I’ll cover shipping. 😉  Payment will be received through PayPal.

If you’d like one, please fill out the form below and I’ll be in contact with you.

Stampin’ Up! Spooky Night

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card today starts with Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then took another panel of Very Vanilla cardstock and matted it on a panel of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, which I then layered on a pattern from the Spooky Night DSP.

I stamped the sentiment from the Labels to Love stamp set in Archival Black ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  I cut it out using the Everyday Label punch and adhered it to the card.

I then fussy cut out a bunch of pumpkins from the Spooky Night DSP using Paper snips and then organized them around the card.  I also cut out some leaves from Basic Black cardstock and Vellum paper using the Leaf Punch and adhered them under some pumpkins.  Lastly, I wrapped around some Basic Black Baker’s Twine in a bow.

Enjoy!

Now head over to Amy’s blog to see what she’s created this week.

Stampin’ Up! Count My Blessings

I. Am. Obsessed. with the Count My Blessings stamp set.

I created a card this past Friday using this beautiful stamp set and then went for it again for this week’s Global Design Project.

My card today is a CAS (clean and simple) card.  I went back and forth with adding DSP or more embellishments or stamping more flowers around the sentiment, but I love that sentiment so much – such a great font and who wouldn’t want to receive it in the mail – that I left it clean and simple.

I start with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I took a panel of Burlap Ribbon, Copper Trim, and Linen Thread and wrapped them around the card front.

I next stamped the sentiment on a panel of Shimmery White cardstock in Tangerine Tango ink, which (after being stamped on) got matted on a panel of Tangerine Tango cardstock.

I stamped the flower twice in Archival Black ink.  Then using a blender pen I colored them in using Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and Lemon Lime twist inks.

Enjoy!
