Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia Embossed Flower

I recently saw a card made by another demo from Australia, Teneale Williams, and I was so inspired by it.  I loved all the layering and texture in it.

So I decided to CASE (copy and selectively edit) the card.

My card starts off with Rococo Rose cardstock.  Next I took a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock and embossed it using the Lace Embossing Folder and then matted it on Whisper White cardstock.

Next I took a Rococo Rose pattern from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper and roughed up the edge of it using my Paper Snips.  I ran the snips on the side of it and then bent in the corners a little bit.

Next I stamped the image from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the coordinating Magnolia Memory Dies.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Varied Vases Stamp Set in Rococo Rose ink, adhering it down with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! My (now) 11-year-old’s birthday card

This month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog hop theme is “birthday”.

I knew right away that I was going to use my son’s 11-year-old birthday card for the challenge.
We have a tradition in our house where I decorate the house in streamers and balloons the night before my kids’ birthdays, so when they wake up, the house is all decorated.

This year I picked out the colors I wanted to decorate in and then made the card around it.
We also have a tradition where I tape the birthday number on the wall.

Here’s the card I made for my son. He turned 11 which can be a tricky age as they’re not little kids anymore, but not quite teens, so I went with a clean, simple, bright card.

The card starts off with Pacific Point cardstock which I embossed using the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.

Next I cut strips of Granny Apple Green, Call Me Clover, Pacific Point, Blueberry Bushel, and Night of Navy cardstock.

I stamped the different birthday sentiments from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set on the different colors, sprinkled them with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I then matted this on Whisper White cardstock and adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Extended Cake Birthday card

I feel like this week’s cards are going to all be about embossing folders.
I LOVE them because they add such great texture and a little “something-something” without much effort or product.

My card today starts off with Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  I then did some matting – Pear Pizzazz under Whisper White under Soft Sea Foam (again) which was embossed using the Lace Embossing Folder.

Next I created my cake using the Piece of Cake Bundle.

I stamped the cake image twice in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored it in using Flirty Flamingo and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I fussy cut them out tight to the black line and layered them over each other.

I stamped the cake holder in Memento Black ink on Pear Pizzazz cardstock and cut it out using the Cake Builder Punch.

I adhered this down on Vellum cardstock.  I added some Flirty Flamingo ribbon to the cake holder, as well as some pearls around the cake.

I used the Flourish Dies to cut out two leaves from Pear Pizzazz cardstock for the right upper corner and then stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink on another piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Fab Friday Color Challenge.

Stampin’ Up! NEW To A Wild Rose Birthday Card

When I design a card, I usually don’t have a specific person in mind.
I usually make them to add to the stash of cards for when I need to pull one out.

However, today’s card was specifically designed for my Mom’s birthday.

I know she loves flowers.

My card starts off with Pool Party cardstock which I embossed using the Woodland Embossing Folder.

I matted a panel of Whisper White cardstock on Blushing Bride cardstock and used the Varied Vases Stamp Set to stamp the sentiment in Pool Party ink.

I made the rose using the NEW To A Wild Rose Bundle.  The outline of the flower was stamped in Blushing Bride ink and the inside stamped off first.  The outline of the leaves was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and stamped off first.

These images in the stamp set can either be two or three step depending on your desired look.

I tied a Linen Thread bow to go next to the flower and added a few pearls around the card.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Two Types of Embossing Masculine Card Video Tutorial

Inspiration can come from just about anywhere.
Today’s card was inspired by a gift bag I saw in Target.  It was eye catching and I knew I wanted to replicate it somehow.

So, here’s what I came up with for last week’s Facebook Live Tutorial.

The card uses two types of embossing: Heat embossing and using an embossing folder and I love how it came out.

I’ll be back tonight at 7:30 pm EST to share a new card with you using (drum roll please…) hot off the press, brand new product from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!!!

Be sure to join me at 7:30 pm EST on my Facebook page.  If you catch it live, leave a comment of some sort, at the end I draw a name for someone to receive tonight’s card!

If you ever miss a tutorial you can catch them all on my YouTube Channel.

For a look at how I made today’s card, check out the video below:

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Birthday Card

This past Saturday was my dad’s birthday…

sighhhh….which means I had to make a masculine card…

They’re just so challenging.  No bling.  No fancy bells or whistles.
My go-to for masculine cards – simple layout, neutral colors.

My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock which I embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder.

Next I took a pattern from the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper and matted it on Night of Navy cardstock.  Over that I adhered a Whisper White circle which I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I then used the Piece of Cake Bundle to create the cake and platter.  For the platter I stamped it in Basic Gray ink on Basic Gray cardstock.  For the cake I stamped it in Versamark ink on Night of Navy cardstock and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  Lastly I stamped the candles in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut them out.

Lastly I stamped the “time to celebrate” in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White cardstock, adhering it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a few Night of Navy enamel dots to finish it off.

Enjoy!

FACEBOOK LIVE TUTORIAL TONIGHT!

Stampin’ Up! Sweetest Thing Birthday Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.

Today is also Amy’s birthday!!!  So in addition to the sketch below we all made birthday cards in celebration of her!  Be sure to head over to her blog and give her some birthday love!

My card starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I then used the Jar of Sweets Framelits and cut out a whole bunch of candy wrappers in Bermuda Bay cardstock to adhere around the card front.  (Keep in mind that the middle is covered and doesn’t need wrappers.)

Next I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Grapefruit Grove cardstock.  I stamped the candy jars and candy from the Sweetest Thing Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on Melon Mambo, Grapefruit Grove, and Bermuda Bay cardstock, cutting them out with the same framelits.

I then wrapped around a Grapefruit Grover ribbon and also added a few Melon Mambo Glitter Enamel Dots.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
