Sometimes a card just comes together so easily and other times, it’s definitely more challenging. Today’s card just “happened.” I saw the color challenge and layout challenge and just knew what I wanted to do.
I started with a base of Thick Whisper White and layered it with Soft Sky. I then placed a strip of Night of Navy in the (somewhat) center of the card.
I stamped the Sea Street star fish in VersaMark and then heat embossed them in white over Night of Navy. I then punched them out and layered them over a Whisper White circle. I also took the swimming fish stamp from the Sea Street Stamp Set and stamped them at the top and bottom on the Soft Sky in VersaMark.
My sentiment comes from the Project Life Remember This Stamp Set stamped in Night of Navy. Underneath I used a pattern in Bermuda Bay from the Cherry on Top DSP.
It’s official, the retiring list will be coming out April 18th! Keep an eye out.

For today’s card, I went simple and sweet.
My color inspiration came from the Sunday Stamps Challenge this week and my layout inspiration from the Global Design Project challenge.
I started with a base color of Blushing Bride and layered it with a beautiful pattern from the English Garden DSP. I then layered that with Sahara Sand and Whisper White. On the Whisper White I stamped two balloons (stamping off first) in Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand.
Both my balloons the sentiment, “Happy Birthday,” come from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set. I had a little bow from Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine on the punched balloon. I punched the sentiment in a scalloped oval and used dimensionals to give it a bit of lift, as well as on the one balloon.
Both the colors for my card today, as well as the layout come from challenges.
Immediately when I saw the Global Design Project Challenge I thought baby card. It just so happens that I know a ton of ladies that are pregnant or just had a baby, so this is great! I also loved the layout from the Mojo Monday Challenge.
For the card, I started with a base of Smoky Slate. I layered it with Whisper White and then Basic Gray embossed in dots. The vertical Basic Gray pattern comes from a retired DSP and the square of Daffodil Delight with dots is from current Schoolhouse DSP.
My sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration Perfect Pairing and is stamped in Daffodil Delight and matted on a circle of Daffodil Delight.
I was inspired by the Happy Stampers Blog Hop Challenge (see my upline’s participation here) for today’s card.
To say I love these colors together, honestly, would be an understatement. We have Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, and Old Olive.
My layout inspiration is from the Global Design Project Challenge this week.
I used the Botanical Gardens DSP as my background and highlighted a bit of Wildflower Fields DSP from underneath Whisper White. Stamps, including the stars and sentiments, are from the Going Global stamp set.
