Stampin’ Up! Two Types of Embossing Masculine Card Video Tutorial

Inspiration can come from just about anywhere.
Today’s card was inspired by a gift bag I saw in Target.  It was eye catching and I knew I wanted to replicate it somehow.

So, here’s what I came up with for last week’s Facebook Live Tutorial.

The card uses two types of embossing: Heat embossing and using an embossing folder and I love how it came out.

I’ll be back tonight at 7:30 pm EST to share a new card with you using (drum roll please…) hot off the press, brand new product from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!!!

Be sure to join me at 7:30 pm EST on my Facebook page.  If you catch it live, leave a comment of some sort, at the end I draw a name for someone to receive tonight’s card!

If you ever miss a tutorial you can catch them all on my YouTube Channel.

For a look at how I made today’s card, check out the video below:

Stampin’ Up! Another Wonderful Year Father’s Day Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Soft Suede cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Another Wonderful Year Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink across the front of the card and then used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut out an oval out of the front.

I adhered a Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card and stamped the trees from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow ink.

I then stamped a bunch of the same trees in Mossy Meadow ink on Mossy Meadow cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating Nature’s Roots Framelits.  I adhered them to the side of the card and to each other using Stampin’ Dimensionals so they would cover the oval opening.

I stamped the same sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered it over the trees using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly I added a button from the True Gentleman Buttons and tied a Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine bow in it.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Father’s Day Video Tutorial

Yay for it being Wednesday!

That means I’ll be going live tonight with another Facebook Live Tutorial.  Last week I made the card below and I have another masculine birthday card for you tonight.

Be sure to join me at 7:30 pm EST!  If you catch it live and leave a comment, at the end I’ll draw a name for someone to receive tonight’s card!

Today’s card is super easy to make – the Designer Series Paper does all the work…well, with the help of a little fussy cutting on your part.

For my example I made a Father’s Day card, but in the video I turned it into a birthday card.  The Well Said Stamp Set is so versatile that you can pretty much make any sort of sentiment needed.

Be sure to join me tonight.  The masculine birthday card I’ll make uses a new technique that I tried out.  I’d love to know what you think!

To see how I created today’s card, click the video below.  If you ever miss any of my videos, you can always see all of them on my YouTube Channel.

Stampin’ Up! Best Route Masculine Birthday Card

Have you headed over and “liked” my Facebook page yet?!

I am currently in Orlando, Florida with 4 team members for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage.  I will be posting lots of pictures of our trip, so head over to see what we’re up to!

Now on to today’s card…

Oh masculine cards, oh masculine cards.  They can be so challenging.

I try to keep them simple with fun paper, texture, and a nice sentiment.

My card starts off with Smoky Slate cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and embossed it using the Subtle Embossing Folder and then matted it on Mango Melody cardstock.

I then cut out three patterns from the Best Route Designer Series Paper to go over the Whisper White.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set in Versamark ink on a panel of Blueberry Bushel cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I then matted this on Whisper White cardstock.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Card – Truly Tailored

The third Thursday of each month the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop will be joining Sandi MacIver and her Happy Stampers Blog Hop for a combined blog hop!  Happy hopping!

As participants we could choose between the sketch challenge and color challenge – I chose to use both!

My card starts off with Night of Navy cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and using a Sponge Brayer and Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide, and Crumb Cake inks, I “painted” on the three colors.

I then ran the cardstock through the Big Shop in the Hexagons embossing folder to give it some texture.  To emphasize the texture even more, I used the Sponge Brayer again ( and went over the cardstock which made the edges of the hexagons a darker shade.

Next I layered a piece of Night of Navy corduroy ribbon over a small pattern from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Tailored Tag Punch which is sticking around in the new Annual Catalog – yay!

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Bubble Over Masculine Card

This month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop’s theme is “Masculine.”  I hope you’ll hop around to see what we’ve each created this month!

Masculine cards sure can be tricky.  No frills, fluff, or sweet details.  I tend to stick to clean and simple for masculine cards and that’s what I’ve created today.

I started off with Chocolate Chip cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock (which was matted on Real Red cardstock) and stamped on the front of it circles in Crushed Curry ink from the Bubble Over Stamp Set.

Next I cut out two bottles from Chocolate Chip cardstock using the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits.   I used a piece of a stamping sponge and Chocolate Chip ink to add extra color to the edge of the bottles.

*Note: Although the Bubble Over and matching framelits are carrying over into the Annual Catalog, it will NOT be carried over as a bundle.  Get the Bubble Over Bundle now while you can to receive the 10% discount!

I stamped the sentiment and the star in Real Red ink and cut them out using the same framelits as above.  Lastly, I cut out two silver bottle caps to add to the bottles.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Truly Tailored – FMS332

Happy Monday!

Here’s to a great week ahead which hopefully includes some crafting for you.  I find if I don’t get some crafting in each week, I’m pretty miserable.

Ladies often ask me how I’m able to carve out time to craft each week and sometimes daily…easily, I just do.  I know it’s good for my mental health and sanity, so I consciously make time in my week.

My card today is a fun one using the True Gentleman Suite from the Occasions Catalog.  I started off with Night of Navy cardstock on which I adhered a pattern from the True Gentleman DSP pack.  I then took another smaller pattern, matted it on Very Vanilla cardstock, and adhered it to the card.

Next I adhered a piece of Burlap Ribbon over the longer DSP panel.  I used the sentiment from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set and covered the outside of it and the face of the fox in washi tape so that only the words “You’re a Fox” were uncovered.  I inked up the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, removed the washi tape, and stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I punched it out using the Tailored Tag Punch.

I then stamped the fox from the Foxy Friends Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and fussy cut him out.  I adhered the fox using Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few True Gentelman buttons.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Truly Tailored Birthday Card

Masculine cards can always be challenging.

The Truly Tailored Stamp Set and coordinating suite makes putting together Father’s Day cards or masculine birthday cards pretty easy.

My dad’s birthday is in March and I thought this would be a great card for him.

My card starts off with Night of Navy cardstock.  I then matted two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock over one another.  I cut three patterns from the True Gentleman DSP in 1′ strips and cut the ends as a banner to adhere to the card front.  I wrapped over the top of them a piece of Night of Navy corduroy ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set in Tranquil Tide ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out using the Tailored Tag Punch.  I adhered it with Stampin Dimensionals.  I tied a bow through a button from the True Gentleman Buttons and adhered it over the corduroy ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set in Tranquil Tide ink on the inside of the card.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Waterfront Masculine Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

For today’s card I’m featuring the Waterfront Stamp Set.  This is a set I initially overlooked and then started seeing what everyone was creating and needed it!

It makes the “wow” factor so easy.  The images are all watercolor, but they’re stamps!

I start off with Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Next I took a pattern from the True Gentleman DSP and matted it on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Next I took a smaller panel of Very Vanilla cardstock to create my scene.  I used the Waterfront stamp set and Crumb Cake ink (mountains), Dapper Denim ink (both water images), and Tranquil Tide ink (trees).  I matted this on a panel of Tranquil Tide cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I strung through a True Gentleman Button some Linen Thread and tied a bow.  I also stamped the sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink.  I adhered the sentiment using Stampin Dimensionals.

For me the Waterfront Stamp Set is a MUST HAVE!  In fact it is the featured stamp for my March stamp parties!!!  You can check out all my parties on my Facebook page.
