Swirly Thank You

My card today was inspired by challenges this week at Sunday Stamps and Global Design Project.

My card starts off with Pear Pizzazz cardstock as its base.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and in the bottom corner stamped one of the swirls from the Swirly Bird stamp set in Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz, and Mint Macaron ink.

Next using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, I cut out swirls in Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz, and Mint Macaron cardstock and adhered them over the coordating ink color.  Before adhering it to the card, I snipped off any cardstock that was hanging off the card.

Using the Layering Squares Framelits, I cut out a frame in Whisper White cardstock using one bigger scalloped framelit and one smaller square framelit.

I stamped the sentiment from the One Big Meaning stamp set in Peekaboo Peach ink and adhered it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, I stamped and cut out a bunch of flowers and adhered them around the sentiment.  Some I adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

PRODUCT LIST:

Happy Birthday – Polka Dots

My 10-year-old had a birthday party to attend this weekend and needed a birthday card.

And unfortunately she had a hard time finding one for her friend as all mine were either too serious or too mature, so I decided to make a fun, bright birthday card!

My card today starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I took a panel of Watercolor Paper and dry embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

The other day I saw a card that had watercoloring on it using Bermuda Bay and I fell in love with it.  When watercolored, Bermuda Bay is much brighter and I loved the look!

I took an aquapainter and watercolored over the polka dots in Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry ink (which I started using but didn’t get the look I wanted, so I mixed it with Perfect Plum). I went over each circle a few times until I got the color I wanted.  The bottom row of purple I left with just one coat of Rich Razzleberry to give it a lighter shade.

Using the sentiment from the Balloon Adventures stamp set, I stamped in Versamark the sentiment on Melon Mambo cardstock and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  Before adhering it, I wound behind it some Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine.

This was such a fun card to make!  Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by the challenge at TGIF this week:

PRODUCT LIST:

Hexagons – Just A Note

My card today starts off with Wild Wasabi cardstock.

Do you find Stampin’ Up! colors have “seasons.”  I rarely pick up Wild Wasabi in the fall or winter and I’ve used it multiple times in spring so far.

Back to my card…I then took a panel of Crushed Curry cardstock and dry embossed it using the Hexagons embossing folder.  This picture doesn’t do it justice – the impression it makes is stunning!!!  This folder is a MUST!

I matted the Crushed Curry on some Whisper White cardstock and tied around it a bow using Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine.  I then adhered it off center on the card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Better Together stamp set in Wild Wasabi ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  Next I cut out a bumble bee using the Detailed Dragonfly and adhered it to the card.  I took the Basic Black marker and drew dots away from the bumble bee as if he was buzzing around.  And because he came from somewhere…

I continued the dots on the inside.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by the challenge this week at Stamp Ink Paper.

Best Birds – Thinking of You

Clearly I don’t know how to follow directions or read dates, as I did the wrong color challenge this week.  Enjoy your sneak peek at what we’ll be doing for May 18th and in the meantime, hop around to see what the real color challenge was supposed to be.

My card today starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock which I layered with a pattern from the Succulent Garden DSP.  I think took a smaller panel of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Night of Navy cardstock and adhered it to the card.

I created my bird and branch using the Best Birds Bundle.  I first stamped the images in Archival Black ink and then used sponges and Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight inks to color them in.  The images were cut out with the coordinating Birds & Blooms framelits.

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Before adhering it to the card, I stamped the “artsy” stamp in Daffodil Delight on the Whisper White cardstock.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week.

PRODUCT LIST:

Jar of Love Birthday

My card is inspired by challenges over at Freshly Made Sketches and The Paper Players.

My card today starts off with Perfect Plum cardstock.  I took a panel of Mint Macaron cardstock and used the wavy Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to cut the end of it in a wave.  Next I took a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock and stamped in Sahara Sand the Hardwood stamp first.  I traced the wave from the Mint Macaron cardstock on the Sahara Sand panel and fussy cut out the wave (leaving a bit of a gap to show through).  I mounted both cardstocks on a panel of Whisper White panel.

For my jar, I used the Jar of Love Bundle and first stamped the leaves in Mint Macaron ink directly on the Mint Macaron cardstock.  I stamped the jar image in Sahara Sand ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating framelits.  I stamped the flowers in Perfect Plum and Mint Macaron inks (stamping off for the lighter shades) and cut them out using the coordinating framelits.  I adhered a few using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment comes from the That’s The Tag stamp set and was stamped in Perfect Plum ink.  It’s a photopolymer stamp so I was able to maneuver to curve it, mirroring the wave in the cardstock.

Enjoy!

PRODUCT LIST:

Penned & Painted – FMS282

Today’s card was inspired by the challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I do have to admit, though, that I just noticed where the sentiment was supposed to be placed – oops.

I wanted to do the spotlight technique on my card today.  I was so focused that I totally forgot to “spotlight” and do the cut outs the first time around.  However, I liked how it looked so much, that I decided to show it anyway.

Card #1 uses Mint Macaron cardstock as its base.  I used the Penned & Painted stamp set to stamp the outlined image of three flowers and three leaves on Whisper White which I matted on Marina Mist cardstock.

Next I stamped the solid flower image (stamping off first) in Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and Marina Mist ink.  I added the sentiment from the Better Together stamp set in Marina Mist ink.

Card #2 uses Marina Mist cardstock as its base.  I again stamped the outline flower image three times on Whisper White cardstock.  This time before coloring them in I used the Layering Squares Framelits and cut out three squares.  I stamped the solid flower image in the same three colors (Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and Marina Mist) on the squares that were cut out.  I matted them on the scalloped squares that coordinated with the color of the flowers and adhered them in the correct spot.

I added the sentiment, this time in Mint Macaron ink, and matted the Whisper White cardstock on Mint Macaron cardstock.

Enjoy!

PRODUCT LIST:

Dragonfly Dreams – Thursday Blog Hop

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.

My card starts off with Night of Navy cardstock which I layered with Whisper White cardstock.  Over that I adhered two panels, one in Mint Macaron cardstock and the other in Watermelon Wonder.

I used the Layering Circles Framelits and cut out a circle from the Affectionately Yours DSP which I layered over Copper Foil paper.  I cut out a dragonfly using the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits and Copper Foil paper.  Before adhering it to the card, I wound some Copper Thread behind it.

The sentiment comes from the One Big Meaning stamp set and was heat embossed using Versamark ink, copper embossing powder, and the heat tool.

SOON TO BE RETIRING 2015-2017 IN-COLORS

Honestly I’m in complete denial that we’re even talking about retiring colors, but as only a good demonstrator would do, I feel I need to give you plenty of time to mourn, eh, I mean, stock up on these colors before they’re going.  Pretty soon these five amazing colors will be discontinued (sniff, sniff).  Sale-a-bration is the perfect time to stock up on them – while you still can.
