Stampin’ Up! Merry Christmas

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

I needed to make a few gift certificates, but I wanted to make the actual gift certificate a gift in and of itself.

I also wanted to try a new card design and my hand at calligraphy…Voila…

My card holder starts off with Real Red cardstock.  I scored it at 5-1/2″ and then cut t a diagonal from the inside corner to 2-1/4″ up from the outside.  I used Tear & Tape adhesive to seal my bottom and right edge.

I cut a pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP and adhered it inside the card holder.  Next I stamped the sentiment from the Watercolor Christmas in Versamark ink on the outside of the card after wiping it with the embossing buddy, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.  I used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits to add a few Garden Green holly leaves and Gold Foil berries around it.

Now…for the gift certificate.  I took a panel of Garden Green cardstock and cut the top of it using the Scalloped Tag Topper (see my Instagram posts to see exactly how I did that).  I then matted on the one side the same pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP and used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits again to add some detail to the corner.

On the opposite side I handwrote the words using a Garden Green write marker.  I’m becoming very fascinated with calligraphy, something I originally learned in high school, but calligraphy has really come so far.  I think I want to continue to work at it, but not bad for the first time.  I added a piece of Garden Green ribbon to the tag topper and wrapped around two bows (so both sides had a bow) in Linen Thread.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Watts of Occasions Merry & Bright

So excited for tonight, I’ll be going live at 7:30 EST on Facebook giving a tutorial on Monday’s card which uses a coloring technique.  Swing by and check it out.

If you watch live and leave me a comment, I’ll send you a blank homemade card!!

For my card today, I’m using the Watts of Occasions Stamp Set.  I’m a sucker for punny sentiments and I love this set for that exact reason.

My card starts off with Old Olive cardstock.  I cut a pattern from the Merry Little Christmas DSP to cover the entire card front.  I then cut a smaller panel of Vellum to put over that.

Next I cut a panel of Basic Black cardstock the width of the card and stamped the sentiment from the Watts of Occasions stamp set in Versamark ink.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it.  I put an Old Olive enamel star and shape next to it.

I stamped the light bulb in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored it in using the Old Olive Stampin Blends markers.  I fussy cut it out and adhered to the card.  Next I cut out the light bulb rays using the Pocket Framelits and Old Olive cardstock.

Enjoy!

CHRISTMAS GIFT CARDS:

I’m sure you have been awfully good this year.

Do you have Stampin’ Up! goodies on your Christmas wish list?
Are you afraid loved one won’t be the exact items you would like?

I offer gift cards!!!  Give your loved ones my e-mail address (stampinjaimie@gmail.com) and I’ll take over from there.

STAMPARATUS RESERVATION CHANGES:

As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period Stampin Up will take as many orders as they receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30.

Please note the following changes:

  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced).
  • In order to accommodate demand, limits have changed as follows: one reservation per customer and one per demonstrator.
  • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you and your customers to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.

PRODUCT LIST:

Stampin’ Up! Brightly Lit Christmas

I’m using the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle for today’s card.

It’s currently in the Year End Sale running now through January 2nd.  This promotion features current product on sale and retired product from the Holiday catalog.  Product is available while supplies last, so don’t wait!

My card starts off with a card base of Dapper Denim cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and used the brayer to create my background using Dapper Denim ink.  I rolled the brayer on the Dapper Denim ink pad (to pick up ink) and then starting from the one end rolled along the Whisper White from one end to the other.

The key is to only go in one direction, don’t go back and forth.  I repeated this over and over (a lot) until I get the darkness I was looking for.

I matted this on another panel of Whisper White cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I used the Christmas Lamppost Thinlits Dies to cut out my lamppost from Basic Black cardstock and the lights from Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I also cut out a banner (to go behind the sentiment) from Dapper Denim cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Dapper Denim ink on a small panel of Whisper White and adhered it over the banner.  I cut out the snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies from Whisper White cardstock and adhered them around the card.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Country Christmas Card

My card today was inspired by this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  All the images looked sort of “country” so that’s what I was aiming for.

Today’s card is a preview of my Make & Take stamp class this coming week.  We’ll be making four cards (different than this one) using the Smitten Mittens Bundle.  If you live in the Upstate New York area and would like to attend, I would love to have you!!!  Head over to my Facebook page to see all my current parties

My card starts off with Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Next I took a pattern from the Wood Textures DSP and used a sponge and Crumb Cake ink to color the edge of the paper.  Then I took a 1″ banner of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and colored the edge with a sponge and Cherry Cobbler ink.

Then I made the mittens using the Smitten Mittens Bundle.  The back of the mittens was cut from Very Vanilla cardstock and the top from Crumb Cake cardstock.  I adhered them together and then used a sponge and Crumb Cake ink to color the edges of the mittens.  I adhered them to the bottom of the card and added a Cherry Cobbler ribbon bow.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and adhered it using Stampin Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stamparatus News & Year End Sale

STAMPARATUS RESERVATION CHANGES:

The results are in! The first Stamparatus reservation window reached its maximum number of reservations in just 15 minutes, which provided Stampin Up with some very important information: You LOVE this new stamping tool! Stampin Up couldn’t be more thrilled; in fact, your response was so amazing that they’ve decided to make some important adjustments to the reservation process.

As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period Stampin Up will take as many orders as they receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30. So whether the total number of reservations is 100 or 100,000, the window will stay open!

  • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you and your customers to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.

Please note what has not changed:

  • If you reserved more than one stamping tool during the first reservation period, that number will not change; you will still receive the same number you reserved.
  • If you reserved one or more stamping tool(s) during the first reservation period, you may still order during the second window.
  • The reservation window will open at 2:00 PM (MT) on December 5.

YEAR END SALE EVENT:

Head on over to my store for Stampin Up’s year-end sales event!!!  This is a combination of retired product (that once gone, is gone for good) and product on sale that will stick around (although not on sale) from the Annual Catalogs.

Product and sales is while supplies last!

Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Home

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Basic Black cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and dry embossed it using the Cable Knit embossing folder and then matted it on Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

I then cut out three Whisper White squares using the Stitched Framelits.  I used the Hearts Come Home stamp set and stamped the houses (two Cherry Cobbler and one Memento Black) and the trees (Old Olive) on the squares.  I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut out scalloped squares for the stitched squares to be matted on.  I adhered them to the card and wrapped around it a Cherry Cobbler ribbon knot.

Lastly, I took the sentiment from the Hearts Come Home sentiment and sort of straightened it out on a D block as the sentiment is naturally curved, but I wanted it straight.  I cut it out and added a thin Cherry Cobbler banner underneath it.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Snowflake Sentiments Part 2

Today is Part 2 of featuring the Snowflake Sentiments Bundle.

I am in love with all the shiny paper, delicate details, and the great sentiments.  To see Part 1 from yesterday, go here.

Here’s a picture of all four cards together.

Today’s first card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I took a panel of Gold Foil Sheet and I wiped it with the Embossing Buddy.  This is key, especially when using darker cardstock to avoid get speckles everywhere.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat embossed it.

I cut out the snowflake detail from Champagne Foil Sheet using the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  I cut out the part underneath the snowflakes from Whisper White cardstock.  I adhered this over the Gold and added a few Gold Enamel Dots.

My second card today starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I wiped the front with the Embossing Buddy. I stamped the snowflake image all across it in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, and heat embossed it.

I cut out the circle from the Year of Cheer DSP using the Stitched Framelits and then the scalloped Gold circle behind it using the Layering Circles Framelits.

I stamped the sentiment on a panel of Whisper White cardstock in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder, and heat embossed it.  I added half a gold doily underneath it and adhered it using Stampin Dimensionals.  I added a few Gold Enamel Shapes to the left.

Enjoy!

Fourthly, and let’s face it, the real reason why you’re here, today’s card.

Today’s card is a Part 1 of 2 showcasing the beautiful Snowflake Sentiments Bundle.  This is a new set to me and I was so inspired by it!!

Here are today’s two cards that are being featured.  Come back tomorrow to see the other two cards.

All four cards feature the Snowflake Sentiments Bundle, Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper, Silver and Gold embossing powder, and Silver, Gold, and Champagne Foil Sheets.

The first card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I first cut out the snowflake detail using Whisper White cardstock and then cut out the beautiful champagne foil sheet behind it using the die cuts from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  I love how these two images layer on one another.

I stamped the sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set in Versamark ink on Whisper White cardstock after rubbing it with the Embossing Buddy.  I have found that the Embossing Buddy is an absolute must when using these darker powders.  I sprinkled the sentiment with Gold Embossing Powder and heat embossed it.

I added a snowflake and little swirls which were cut out from Gold and Champagne Foil Sheet.  Finally I added a few Gold Enamel Circles to the card.

For the second card, I again started out with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  This time I adhered over it a pattern from the Year of Cheer DSP.  I then stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink on a panel of Whisper White cardstock, after wiping it with the Embossing Buddy, and then sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder heat embossed it.  I matted this panel over Silver Foil cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I cut out the long line of snowflakes from Silver Foil Sheet and then snipped off two of them.  I adhered them and two silver swirlies around the snetiment.  I added two Silver Enamel Dots to the center of the snowflakes and added some rhinestones around the sentiment.

Enjoy and be sure to come back tomorrow to check out what else I created using these amazing products!

Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Bells Christmas

Has anyone had snow yet?!

I live in Upstate New York, but we haven’t had any snow yet.  I know some people hate snow, but if I’m going to have the cold, it might as well look pretty.

So for now, no snow in sight.  Hopefully soon!

My card today starts off with Pool Party cardstock.  I then took a pattern from the Christmas Around the World DSP and matted it on Silver Foil cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I used the Layering Squares framelits and cut out three Pool Party squares and three Silver Foil scalloped squares for which to show off my snowflakes.  I cut the snowflakes out of Whisper White cardstock using the Seasonal Layers thinlits and adhered them using liquid glue.

For the sentiment, I used the Seasonal Bells stamp set and Pool Party ink.  I fussy cut it out and adhered it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy and here’s to some snow real soon!

My card today was inspired by this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.
