Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Welcome Card

We have a new color challenge for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments and I was so inspired by them!

Be sure to play along with us this week!

My card starts off with Mint Macaron cardstock.  I then matted a panel of Whisper White cardstock on Cinnamon Cider cardstock.

You really can’t tell in the picture (and barely in person) but I did stamp the smaller sunflower image from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set on the Whisper White in Versamark ink.

I then took a pattern from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper and matted it on Whisper White cardstock.

I stamped the sunflower and leaves from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set in Stazon ink on Watercolor Paper.  I used a Water Painter to color them in using Cinnamon Cider, Mint Macaron, and Crumb Cake ink.  I cut them out using the coordinating Sunflower Dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set in Crumb Cake ink and cut it out using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop theme is Birds or Animals.  Happy hopping!

Today’s card starts off with Misty Moonlight cardstock.

Using the Birds & More Dies, I cut a circle out of one of the patterns from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  I then matted this on Whisper White cardstock.

I stamped the detailed parts of the birds from the Birds & Branches Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight ink and the full bird image over it in So Saffron ink.  I used the same dies to cut them out and adhered them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Lastly, I tied a bow next to the birds.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Card Video Tutorial

Although I had created this card for our blog hop last Thursday, I just couldn’t wait and shared it as part of my Wednesday night live tutorial.

I just love the colors and mixing of Designer Series Paper…and that cute little acorn.

It uses the Forever Fern Bundle, along with the beautiful Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper and other great products!

I’ll be back tonight with another live tutorial.  This time I’m using the Peace & Joy Bundle and creating three cards, one for a beginner stamper,  an intermediate stamped, and an avid stamper.  I did something similar here.

If you catch it live at 7:30 EST on my Facebook page, you might just win tonight’s card!

If you ever miss a tutorial, you can check them out on my YouTube Channel.

Stampin’ Up! All Things Fabulous Card Video Tutorial

I really do love soft, feminine cards with sweet details.

And that’s what I created last week for my live tutorial, which I’m sharing with you today.

Today’s card uses the All Things Fabulous Bundle with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.  The All Things Fabulous Stamp Set is a sweet one because it’s multi-step stamping which allows for different variations of colors to be stamped to give the flower more detail.

I’ll be back tonight at 7:30 EST on my Facebook Page with another live tutorial!  Join me live and you might just win tonight’s card!

If you ever miss a video tutorial, you can check them out on my YouTube channel.

Stampin’ Up! Back to School Ridiculously Awesome Card

This year we’ve decided to homeschool our kids.  Lots went into this decision, but we’re pretty excited for the year ahead!

Each year for the kids’ first day of school I always put a handmade card in their lunch box.  I like to think it’s a surprise, but I’ve done it for so long, I don’t think they’re very surprised anymore.

Although this year I didn’t put their card in a lunch box, I did put it next to their school books.  When they went to grab their books this morning for our first day of school, I think, for the first time in a long time, they were surprised.

Maybe they thought because we were homeschooling, they wouldn’t get a card, but this mama wouldn’t skip a year, not even if it’s at home.

Their three cards all used the same layout, but different colors.
For my girl who loves blue…

My card starts off with Misty Moonlight cardstock which I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment and lines from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana ink.  I cut this out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and matted it on Coastal Cabana cardstock.

I used the Stitched Stars Dies to cut out starburst from Coastal Cabana cardstock and two stars from a Coastal Cabana Designer Series Paper pattern.  To make the starburst fit the entire width of the card, I snipped it and hid the seam behind the sentiment.

I then used the same layout, but used Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade for my girl who loves red…

And for my boy, I used Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight…

Thanks for checking out my projects today!!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Sunday Stamps Challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Spotlight Technique Celebrate Sunflowers Card

For today’s card I used the Spotlight Technique with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set.

It’s super easy but has a really cool effect.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set on it in Memento Black ink.

TIP:  When stamping, I used the Stamparatus.  This allowed for exact placement when stamping on the card front, as well as stamping on the triangles.

I then cut out three triangles using the Stitched Triangles Dies.  I stamped the same sunflower image on them in Memento Black ink.  I colored the images using the Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I adhered them over the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Cajun Craze cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I used a special technique to make the die fit the sentiment.

To see how you can adjust the die to make it fit a smaller (or larger) sentiment, you can check out this video (go to about 10 mins in).

Next to the one triangle, I added a couple of Cinnamon Cider Enamel Dots.

Thanks for checking out my project today!
Be sure to swing by my store to grab the makings so you can make it as well.

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Simple So Much Happy Birthday Card

Today I have a relatively simple birthday card that can work for just about anyone!

Or if you wanted to make it more feminine or masculine, you could just switch up the colors.

My card starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the balloons and strings from the So Much Happy Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight ink.

I then matted this on Calypso Coral cardstock.

I stamped the “happy” from the So Much Happy Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.   I stamped the birthday in Calypso Coral ink and fussy cut it out.

Lastly I used the coordinating Happy Dies to add a few stars to the balloons.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches Friend Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Purple Posy cardstock which I embossed using the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.

I then matted a pattern from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper on Crumb Cake cardstock and wound a Linen Thread bow around it.

I used the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to cut out a label.  I then stamped the branch from the Birds & Branches Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink and the flowers in Highland Heather ink.  I stamped the sentiment from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink and adhered a Purple Posy Enamel butterfly next to it.

I stamped the smaller image of the bird and feet in Gray Granite ink.  I stamped the larger image of the bird in Gray Granite ink also, just stamping off first for a lighter shade.  I cut them out using the Birds & More Dies.

To make the eye darker, I just used a Gray Granite Stampin’ Write Marker.

Stampin’ Up! Fancy Phrases Blessings Card

Stampin’ Up! has great images with their stamps – specifically the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set.

But in this case, it’s the sentiments that I LOVE…
Really sweet phrases, words of encouragement, and even a birthday sentiment!

It also has a great floral image which I put my fussy cutting to the test with.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I then adhered a pattern from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper to it.

I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out a square from Gray Granite cardstock and embossed it using the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.  Above and below it I stamped the sentiments from the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set in Gray Granite ink.

I then stamped the floral image from the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set in Basic Gray ink and fussy cut it out, adhering it over the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, next to the floral image I adhered some Elegant Faceted Gems.

Thanks for checking out my project today!
