Stampin’ Up! Patriotic Thank You Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a theme challenge: Punch It. Have fun hopping through and seeing what everyone’s created this week!

I decided to do a patriotic thank you card.

This card and I struggled a bit. There was a moment of – This just isn’t working (or looking good). Did you see this post?

Well, the card and I made up and worked through our differences, and I really like how it came out.

4 of 9 Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Patriotic Card

My card starts off with Thick Basic White cardstock.

4 of 9 Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Patriotic Card

I then took a panel of Vellum and embossed it using the Checks & Dots Embossing folder. It’s a mini embossing folder, so it didn’t cover the complete piece of Vellum.

I couldn’t done a technique that I shared here (fast forward to minute 11), but was feeling lazy and left it as is.

4 of 9 Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Patriotic Card

I then used the Ice Cream Builder Punch and cut out scoops from Poppy Parade, Misty Moonlight, and Basic White cardstock. I cut the cone out of Crumb Cake cardstock. I adhered one over the other and adhered them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4 of 9 Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Patriotic Card

I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White panel and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Ice Cream You Card

Underneath it I wound around some Silver Trim, which I am currently obsessed with and keep using over and over, and also added a couple of Red Rhinestones over the white scoop.

Stampin’ Up! Beauty of Friendship & Mountain Air Card

I think it is really brilliant how Stampin’ Up! creates suites of product for us. They consist of four different items that are designed to work together and coordinate.

I love them so much that I don’t generally mix product from outside the suites.

But the Beauty of Friendship Bundle and Mountain Air – it’s like they’re family, cousins.

Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Birthday Card

You know when you tell yourself you don’t NEED that stamp set…
and then you see everyone making the most adorable cards with it and suddenly you NEED it immediately?!

Am I the only one?
That’s what happened with the Party Puffins Stamp Set and I am so glad I got it!!

Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Birthday Card

My card starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock which I covered with a pattern from the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper.

**The Snail Mail Designer Series Paper is retiring and only available right now while supplies last! So don’t wait!!

Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Birthday Card

I then took a panel of Basic White cardstock and used the Stamparatus to stamp the puffin in Memento Black ink.

I used the Stamparatus because I wanted a really dark, crisp stamped image and would highly recommend using it if you’re stamping with the Party Puffins Stamp.

Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Birthday Card

On a separate piece of Basic Black, I stamped three fish, the puffin with the party hat, and the sentiment. I colored everything in using the Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers,

Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Birthday Card

I fussy cut the fish out and the party hat off and adhered them down. I then added a few rhinestones around the fish.

Stampin’ Up! Art in Bloom Friend Card & Video

I am all about value.

Before being a demo especially, I had a tight budget and needed to get the most out of the items I bought. (Mostly why I became a demo – to have the discount)

Looking through the Annual Catalog, hands down I think the product with the most value is the Art in Bloom Bundle.

Stampin’ Up! Art in Bloom Friend Card

It’s a trio bundle – stamp, dies, embossing folder!

Stampin’ Up! Art in Bloom Friend Card

The value comes in that you can use all three together, each piece separately, or any combination of mixing the three. So. Much. Value.

Today’s card is the one I shared a few weeks back and in the video I share two other cards using this bundle – one I shared a week or so ago and the second I’ll share on Friday.

I’ll be back tonight with another live card tutorial over on Facebook at 7:30 EDT. I sure hope you join me – if you, you’ll have a chance to win the card!!!

Stampin’ Up! Color & Contour Thank You Cards

Team pink vs. team purple

I mentioned it this week over on Facebook that people tend to either be team pink or team purple. I was surprised by everyone’s answers. They were pretty 50/50. You can vote for team pink or team purple here.

In honor of team pink vs. team purple, I made two cards today using the same layout, same product, but one pink and one purple. Let me know in the comments which one you prefer 🙂

My card starts off with one of our new In Colors, Polished Pink. I then used the brand new Scalloped Contours Dies to cut out a scalloped piece of Basic White cardstock. I used the same dies, the next size smaller, to cut out a scalloped Melon Mambo pattern from the Brights Designer Series Paper.

This particular pattern is part of the new pack included in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. You get a sampling of it, and all the new Designer Series Paper for that matter, in my Product Share. You can check out all the details here.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Color & Contour Stamp Set in Melon Mambo ink. I used another die from the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut it out.

You’ll notice that the die itself is bigger than the sentiment. Using a simple method, I made the die fit the sentiment. Although not this exact die, check out this video here to see how to make a die fit a sentiment better.

Next I stamped the floral image in Memento Black ink and the inside floral image in Polished Pink. I adhered this to a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet and then cut it out using the same dies. I then wrapped around a piece of Polished Pink ribbon in a knot.

This ribbon is gorgeous, available in all five 2021-2023 In Colors beginning May 4th and in my Product Share as well.

Here’s a look at the same card, same layout but using Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather colors.

So the question is, are you team pink or team purple?

Stampin’ Up! Simply Succulents Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge. Happy hopping!!

My card starts off with Pool Party cardstock, which I embossed using the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

I guess I must really like this embossing folder as I’ve used it in 3 out of the 4 cards this week. What can I say – if it ain’t broke, no need to fix it. 😉

Next I took a panel of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and matted it on Basic White cardstock. I used a Soft Succulent pattern from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper that I adhered over the Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

Next I created my pot of succulents using the Simple Succulents Bundle. I stamped the pot using the Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Markers and the succulent using the (new and available May 4th) Soft Succulent and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Stampin Up Simply Succulents Card

I cut out an aloe plant from Soft Succulent cardstock and a the other elements from Pool Party cardstock. The single succulent I stamped in Soft Succulent ink on Basic White cardstock. I cut them out using the Potted Succulents Dies, adhering them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I wound around a piece of Soft Succulent ribbon to go under the sentiment. The sentiment from the Simply Succulents Stamp Set I stamped in Soft Succulent ink. I cut it out along with the succulent details using the Potted Succulents Dies.

All week we’ve been talking about the new 2021-2023 In Colors.

If you missed them, you can find them here Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Today’s card uses the new Evening Evergreen and I paired it with the gorgeous Beauty of the Earth Suite, which will be available May 4th.

My card starts off with Soft Suede cardstock which I covered with a pattern from the Beauty of Earth Designer Series Paper.

**This paper is really amazing and is included in my Product Share. Want a sampling of it? Check out my Product Share and get lots of new product for a fraction of the price!!

Stampin Up Beauty Of Friendship Thinking of You Card

I then took a panel of Evening Evergreen cardstock and embossed it with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and then matted it on a panel of Basic White cardstock.

Next, I took a panel of Basic White cardstock and stamped the bigger tree image in Evening Evergreen ink, stamping off first. I then stamped the more detailed image in Evening Evergreen ink over it, stamping off first again. I then stamped the trunk in Soft Suede ink, yes, you guessed it, stamping off first. I then matted this on Soft Suede cardstock.

For the other tree, I stamped the bigger tree image in Soft Succulent ink (stamping off first) and then the more detailed tree image in Evening Evergreen ink over it. I stamped the trunk in Soft Suede ink and cut them both out using the Beautiful Trees Dies, adhering them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Beauty of Friendship Card

I used the same dies to cut out two birds from Bumblebee cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it out with the Beautiful Trees Dies. Underneath I wound around some Crumb Cake Twine.

*By the way, this twine comes in a variety pack of 5 colors, and is also included in my Product Share!
