Stampin’ Up! Two Cards Using Love You To Pieces Stamp

What color do you struggle using?

You know, that color that you avoid almost at all cost.
For me it’s yellow…and then orange (unless it’s fall).

But when I saw the FabFriday challenge (see below), I wanted to challenge myself.

I took inspiration from Tami White’s card

My card starts off with Mango Melody cardstock.  I then took a Daffodil Delight pattern from the Brights Designer Series Paper and matted it on Whisper White cardstock.

I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and used the Puzzle Pieces Dies to cut out a big puzzle.  I stamped the “love you” in Mango Melody ink and “to pieces” in Terracotta Tile ink from the Love You To Pieces Stamp Set.  I adhered these down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly I added a Daffodil Delight bow.

Because the first card used so much yellow and orange…I then decided to make a card using the same stamps and dies and still using the challenge colors, but just a little less of them.

Here they are together.  Which one is your favorite?

Today’s cards were inspired by this week’s Fab Friday Challenge.

My card today starts off with Pool Party cardstock.  I then took a pattern from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and matted it on Whisper White cardstock.

I then cut out a Whisper White circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies and trimmed off one of the sides.  I stamped the clouds from the Above the Clouds Stamp Set on it in Pool Party ink.

I stamped the outline of the hot air balloon and basket in Calypso Coral on Whisper White cardstock and the inside in the same, only stamped off for a lighter shade.  I cut them out using the coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch.

I stamped the outside of the flag in Pool Party ink and the inside in the same, stamped off.  I fussy cut this out to adhere over the balloon.

I stamped the sentiment from the Above the Clouds in Calypso Coral ink.  I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I shortened the size to make it fit better.

To see how I shortened the die, you can check out this video I did for a different card that uses the same technique.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! By The Dock Birthday Card

This past weekend I reached out on Facebook for advice on how to color in the By The Dock images for today’s card.

There wasn’t a clear winner, so I decided to go in a different direction…
Directly stamp on watercolor paper and use an Aqua Painter to color them in.

My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock.  Next I took a panel of Balmy Blue cardstock and embossed it using the Corrugated Embossing Folder.

I then took a panel of Watercolor Paper and stamped the images from the By The Dock Stamp Set in Stazon Black ink.  I used an Aqua Painter to color in the images – Soft Suede for the dock, Crumb Cake for the boat, and very subtle Balmy Blue around them.

I then matted this on Soft Suede cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the By The Dock Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Soft Suede cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I adhered this down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad Card

How’s everyone holding up!?

We’re making the most of it here and adapting to the new norm.

If nothing else, I’m getting crafting in.

My card today starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I then layered a pattern from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper on Whisper White cardstock.

Next I took another pattern from the Bird Ballad DSP and fussy cut it out.  These images are beautiful and although take some patience and time to cut them, I LOVE the end result!!  I adhered this image down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Varied Vases Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.  I then added a few champagne rhinestones around.

Enjoy and stay healthy everyone!!

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Friendship Congratulations Card

Yesterday we had a great color challenge for our Thursday blog hop.

I actually ended up making two cards with the colors, and liked them both.  You can see yesterday’s card here.

My card today starts off with Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut out one rectangle from Whisper White cardstock and one from Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.  I embossed the DSP using the Subtle Embossing Folder.

On the Whisper White panel, I used the Beautiful Friendship and stamped the flowers in Poppy Parade and Blackberry Bliss ink and the leaves in Old Olive ink.  I stamped the sentiment from the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Lastly, I wrapped around a Poppy Parade bow.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Friendship Card

How’s everyone holding up?

Things seem a bit crazy right now and I pray you find peace in it all.  As we move forward with little to no social contact, I’m grateful for stamping as a great way to pass time.

My card today starts with Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the flower from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Mango Melody ink and then matted it on Soft Suede cardstock.

I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out a larger circle from Mango Melody cardstock and a smaller one from Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Under them I adhered a pattern from the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the flower and leaves from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.  I colored them in using Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends for the flower and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends for the leaves.  I cut these out using the coordinating In The Tropics Dies.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Mango Melody ink.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! My Meadow Thinking of You Card

Today’s card is very personal for me.

It’s created with my grandparents in mind, and which I’ll be sending to my Grandma.

It reminds me of them because my grandparents had a gazebo on the side of their house.  My Grandpa always loved his purple irises (which my Grandma hated) and there was always this playful banter back and forth about them.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.

I  put a panel of Whisper White cardstock (4-1/2×5-1/2″) about 1/4 of the way into the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.  When I put it through the die cutting machine, I didn’t wind it all the way through.  I then took a piece of sponge and Gray Granite ink and very lighthandedly wiped the embossed bricks to add some color.

Underneath the bricks I stamped the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set in Highland Heather ink.

Next I used the My Meadow Stamp Set to create my scene using Gray Granite (gazebo), Old Olive (grass, leaves, stems), Soft Suede (tree trunk), and Highland Heather (flowers) ink.  I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut it out.

I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out a Purple Posy circle and Highland Heather scalloped circle to layer underneath the scene.

Enjoy!

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card today starts off with Petal Pink cardstock which I embossed using the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.

I used the Wild Rose Dies to cut out leaves from Old Olive cardstock and Pear Pizzazz cardstock which I adhered under the Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the sentiment from the Varied Vases Stamp Set in Lovely Lipstick ink.  I cut the end in a banner and used my bone folder to curve it.
