Stampin’ Up! Kids Birthday – Sponge Dauber

Every Wednesday night at 7:30 PM EST I do a Facebook Live Tutorial.  I try to make cards that show different techniques or use special tools.

This past week’s card used Sponge Daubers in two different ways.

If you catch my videos live, leave a message, at the end I’ll draw a name for someone to win that night’s card!  If you ever miss a video, you can check them out on YouTube!

Here’s this week’s video:

Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Birthday

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

I was REALLY inspired by this week’s colors!!  I love these colors together.  They just look so funky.

My card starts off with Basic Black cardstock.  I then took a pattern from the Petal Passion DSP and used a Sponge Dauber to stamp Lemon Lime Twist ink in two corners.  I matted this on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and adhered it to the card.

Next I created my cluster in the center of the card.  First I adhered down a piece of Lemon Lime Twist ribbon.  Next I stamped the banner from the Banners for You Stamp Set and cut it out using the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits.  I trimmed off the one side (see below) of the banner and adhered it down.

I used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set to make my party blowers.  I alternated Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, and Memento Black ink and then fussy cut them out.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink on Berry Burst cardstock, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! We Must Celebrate

I cannot say enough how much I love the Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I’m not usually one to color a lot, but they make coloring and shadowing so easy.

Although the Pink Pirouette markers (as used in today’s card) are retiring, 11 new colors are being added to the Stampin’ Blends collection.

My card today starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I then layered over it a pattern from the Petal Passion DSP and added a 1-1/2″ Pink Pirouette banner over that.

Next I stamped the animals from the We Must Celebrate Stamp Set in Memento Black ink on a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I colored in the images using Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink on a small panel of Pink Pirouette cardstock and added a few Pink Pirouette Enamel stars in the bottom corner.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Fab Friday Challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Bird Banter Birthday

First things first:  The Clearance Rack has just been updated.  The prices are incredibly low on these items so they’re sure to go fast.  Check everything out here.

Now on to today’s card…

My card today starts off with Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I then cut a pattern from the Myths & Magic DSP to adhere on an angle over it.

Next I cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I first stamped the birds from the Bird Banter Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.  I then stamped the branches underneath the birds.  For a few of them I had to do the masking technique.

This is where you stamp the (in this case) bird on a scrap piece of computer paper (or Post-It) and then fussy cut it out.  You lay this paper over the stamped image (again, in this case, the bird) and then you stamp the other image over it (in this case, the branch).  This gives the illusion that the branch is going behind the bird.  (See the fourth bird down and the tail of the third bird down.)

I colored in the birds using a variety of Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I wrapped around some Bermuda Bay ribbon and tied a Linen Thread bow in it.  I adhered the Whisper White cardstock down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the Bird Banter Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay ink and adhered it also with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s TGIF Challenges.

Stampin’ Up! Sunshine & Rainbows Birthday

Happy spring!

What more says spring than Rainbows!

Well, first you need rain, and not snow, for rainbows which we have yet to have in Upstate New York, but soon enough we’ll have Sunshine & Rainbows, which is the bundle I used for today’s card.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.

Note: This thick cardstock is perfect when you’re using Whisper White as the base to your card.  It holds up much better and is able to “stand up” unlike the regular Whisper White.

I took Pool Party ink and a brayer to create the inked look behind my rainbow.

I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Sunshine & Rainbows Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry ink in the bottom corner.  I added a piece of white sparkly washi tape from the Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape on either side of it.

I created my rainbow using the Rainbow Builder  Framelits and Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Island Indigo, Rich Razzlberry, and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.  I cut the two clouds out of Whisper White cardstock and added a few Clear Epoxy Shapes around the card to finish it off.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s challenge at The Paper Players.

Stampin’ Up! We Must Celebrate Birthday

I’m pretty excited about today’s card – mostly because it’s my first post in about a week and a half!

Feels good to be back!

What I love about this card is it’s just stamps, paper, and the watercolor pencils.

I start off with Pool Party cardstock.  I then took a panel of Shimmery White cardstock and stamped the animals and confetti from the We Must Celebrate Stamp Set in Archival Black ink on it.  I then colored them in using the Watercolor Pencils and matted it on Bermuda Bay cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the We Must Celebrate Stamp Set on a piece of Pool Party cardstock and adhered it on the card.

Enjoy!

Mojo442I love all the beautiful Design Series Paper Stampin’ Up! offers.  In a single packet you get 6 double-sided patterns (two of each) and the back lists all the coordinating colors used.  They all intermix and colors coordinate perfectly.  They make creating a beautiful card a synch!

For today’s card, all the beautiful patterns come from the Birthday Bouquet DSP.

140557GGMy card starts with a base of Blushing Bride and is layered with one dotted DSP pattern from the Birthday Bouquet.

Birthday Bouquet - Stamp It Up With JaimieI used two others patterns mounting the balloon one in Mint Macaron and the striped one in Blushing Bride in the center of the card.  I then used some Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim layered over them.  My sentiment, “Happy Birthday Wishes,” is from the Petite Pairs and was punched with the 1-1/2″ circle and then layered over a 1-3/4″ circle of Mint Macaron.

Birthday Bouquet - Stamp It Up With Jaimie - Stampin Up

In the 1-3/4″ circle I used the Paper Piercer to create dotted circles around the edge.  A few Blushing Bride Itty Bitty flowers with small Pearl Embellishments were used to finish it off.

Suite Sayings - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

For my sentiment, I used the birthday saying from Suite Sayings and stamped it in Blushing Bride.  I used the Decorative Label Punch in Blushing Bride to highlight the sentiment and adhered the circle with dimensionals for a little lift.  To finish it off, I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl.

PPA #288

Happy Wednesday!  Hope you’re having a crafttistic (get it, craft – fantastic) week so far!  It’s been one of those weeks for me and I have to say that sneaking away into my craft room to whip up some cards has kept my head clear.

Today’s layout comes from the Paper Pals #288 Challenge.  With March birthdays looming around the corner, I’ll be in full birthday card mode for a while now.

PPA-288-Feb18

I started off with a background of Watermelon Wonder layered with Whisper White and Blushing Bride.  I used the beautiful Birthday Bouquet DSP as my center focus, as well as the vertical strip layered over it.

Happy Birthday - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

I love detail.  Detail, detail, detail.  Even more so, I love hidden detail (or at least detail that isn’t jumping out at you).  I used the Butterfly Thinlit Dies to create the butterflies.  I first made one in Blushing Bride, layered it with one in Watermelon Wonder, and then layered them both with a smaller butterfly, also from the Butterfly Thinlit Dies in vellum.  Over top I used a strip of Pearl Basic Jewels.

Just as a final touch, I used some Silver Metallic Thread wrapped a few times underneath the butterfly.

Butterfly - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

My sentiment, “Happy Birthday” comes from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive.  Underneath is a sliver of Vellum paper.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday - Stampin Up - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

Don’t forget about my special deal that’s going on right now until the end of February!
