I am so excited to share with you a scrapbook layout I’ve been working on. See my first scrapbook post here.
For my double layouts I don’t design them to necessarily flow together as one, but I do like the colors to go together and not clash. So for both pages I went with It’s My Party patterns and colors. This is my 9-year-old, Emily’s, pages.
We went for a few days to a place called “Word of Life.” On Friday nights they have a rodeo and you can walk around to the barn and live animals. Well, she is an avid cat lover (I call her the cat whisperer) so of course I had to capture this moment.
I used It’s My Party DSP patterns and punched them with the Hexagon punch and scattered them in the different corners of the 12 x 12.
I used the It’s My Party Baker’s Twine, both in Mint Macaron and Melon Mambo to add some layering on top. The sentiment, You’re Sweet, is from a retired stamp set. The pictures are matted on Melon Mambo.
For the second 12 x 12 layout, I used yet another page from the It’s My Party DSP. The pictures are matted in Mint Macaron.
This time I used the Chevron Punch in Mint Macaron both at the top and the bottom.
Under the bottom photos, I added some Dotted Lace Trim in Mint Macaron and a few It’s My Party Enamel Dots to add some detail.
Today’s card was a first for me. I hardly ever use anything but Whisper White cardstock. If you’ve used it, you know, it’s the best paper out there. If you haven’t tried it – I’m getting a sheet to you. You’ll be sold!
However, the Typeset Specialty DSP Paper uses Very Vanilla as the coordinating color with Basic Black. So, why not.
I used Very Vanilla as my background color with Basic Black layered over it and then a sheet from the Typeset Specialty DSP. I just love the old, vintage map.
For my sentiment, I stamped the Going Global Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay and then punched out the nautical sign with a 2″ punch. I stamped the same image, this time in Basic Black and fussy cut the pointers (that’s what I’m going to call them).
Because the sentiment says “I thank my Lucky Stars for you,” I knew I needed a star somewhere, so I used the smallest star from the Stars Framelit Dies (part of Weekly Deals this week – see below) in Bermuda Bay.
Just to add another depth to the card, I used the Chevron Punch to add a detail behind everything.
Here are the Weekly Deals this week. The Weekly Deals are only while supplies last and only available at these great prices through February 29.
Happy Sunday! If you’re visiting me from Amy’s blog – Welcome!
For today’s card I participated in the Sunday Stamps Challenge #120.
I started off with a base color of Lost Lagoon and layered it with the beautiful and clean Whisper White embossed in Chevron (love me some Chevron). For the banners I used the fabulous patterns from the Wildflower Fields DSP.
I first stamped the sweet sentiment from the Going Global Stamp Set in Hello Honey and then stamped it again separately in Old Olive. I fussy cut out “Love” and attached it using dimensionals to give it a lift. As you can see, the Hello Honey “Love” still peeks through.
Finally, along the top I added a Lost Lagoon Ribbon with an Old Olive Button and a bow out of Old Olive Baker’s Twine.
