NEW Lift Me Up Cards – Part 2

Yesterday I previewed two of the cards we’re making at my December Make & Take party this week and today I’m showing you the other two.  If you missed yesterday’s cards, you can see them here.

As I said yesterday, I’m IN-LOVE with the Lift Me Up Bundle and coordinating FREE Carried Away DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  They had me with all the great sentiments!!

For my first card, I use Night of Navy as my base.  I then layered a pattern from the Carried Away DSP (Sale-a-bration item) over some Whisper White.  I created the hot air balloon by cutting the balloon out in Night of Navy and the different background pieces in Smoky Slate.

I then created a banner using Mint Macaron cardstock and stamped the sentiment (cute, right?!) in Mint Macaron on Whisper White.

carried-away-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-upMy second card comes right out of the Occasions Catalog (which is a great source of inspiration).  The base for my card is Basic Gray which is layered with some Soft Sky.  I then created my balloon using Smoky Slate for the balloon and Watermelon Wonder, Flirty Flamingo, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White for the background pieces.

I cut out a few Whisper White clouds (one adhered using a dimensional) and then stamped the sentiment in Archival Basic Gray.

Updates & Father’s Day Card

It’s that time of the year (well almost at least) and Father’s Day is right around the corner.  End of the school year is a bit crazy around here, so I was glad to be able to say that this card is done and ready.

For today’s card I started with some Thick Whisper White.  I layered 2/3 of the card with Tip Top Taupe and the other 1/3 with Island Indigo.  I then cut a strip of Mint Macaron to cover the seam.

I then placed a pattern of Tip Top Taupe from the Cherry on Top DSP over the left of the card matted in Whisper White.

Going Global - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

I took my inspiration for this card’s layout from the Mojo Monday challenge and the color scheme from the Global Design Project challenge.

I then used the Going Global stamp set to stamp the world in Island Indigo and the sentiment in Mint Macaron matted over Tip Top Taupe.

Mojo Monday 439

To make a masculine card, be it birthday, Father’s Day, or anything really, can be a challenge.  Being a man’s card automatically eliminates bows, girly colors, frills, and many other cutesy details.

For this reason, if you find yourself in need of a masculine card I HIGHLY recommend the Going Places DSP.  The masculine colors and designs makes putting a card together super easy.

I started with a background of Mossy Meadow and then layered it with Whisper White.  I then used two different patterns, one layered on Lost Lagoon and one layered on Mossy Meadow.  I used the globe from the Going Global Stamp Set stamped in Lost Lagoon as a center focus of the card.

The sentiment is from the “Crazy About You” Stamp Set and was heat embossed in black.

World’s Best Dad Card

I’m in love with this beautiful Going Places Designer Series Paper! I love the more masculine designs and colors.  When I saw it, I knew I just had to have it – 1: Because we do a lot of traveling as a family and it will be great for scrapbooking and 2: My husband LOVES old world maps so for Father’s Day cards and birthday cards for him – this is perfect!

For today’s card, I started off with a background of Delightful Dijon.  I then layered it with a page from the Going Places DSP.

My stamped globe, as well as the sentiment is from the Going Global Stamp Set.  I knew I wanted the sentiment “World’s Best Dad” and the arrows as well, but they were on different stamps.  First I stamped the “World’s Best Dad” in Basic Black.  Then, I covered the other sentiment with Washi Tape (so as to just show the arrows) and inked the stamp.  Then I removed the Washi Tape and stamped the arrows under the “World’s Best Dad” sentiment.

For the layered look, I used other designs from the Going Places DSP in Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Delightful Dijon and then finished off with a touch of Linen Thread.

My Lucky Stars

Today’s card was a first for me.  I hardly ever use anything but Whisper White cardstock.  If you’ve used it, you know, it’s the best paper out there.  If you haven’t tried it – I’m getting a sheet to you.  You’ll be sold!

However, the Typeset Specialty DSP Paper uses Very Vanilla as the coordinating color with Basic Black.  So, why not.

I used Very Vanilla as my background color with Basic Black layered over it and then a sheet from the Typeset Specialty DSP.  I just love the old, vintage map.

For my sentiment, I stamped the Going Global Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay and then punched out the nautical sign with a 2″ punch.  I stamped the same image, this time in Basic Black and fussy cut the pointers (that’s what I’m going to call them).

Because the sentiment says “I thank my Lucky Stars for you,” I knew I needed a star somewhere, so I used the smallest star from the Stars Framelit Dies (part of Weekly Deals this week – see below) in Bermuda Bay.

Just to add another depth to the card, I used the Chevron Punch to add a detail behind everything.

Going Global Card

Happy Sunday!  If you’re visiting me from Amy’s blog – Welcome!

For today’s card I participated in the Sunday Stamps Challenge #120.

I started off with a base color of Lost Lagoon and layered it with the beautiful and clean Whisper White embossed in Chevron (love me some Chevron).  For the banners I used the fabulous patterns from the Wildflower Fields DSP.

Going Global - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

I first stamped the sweet sentiment from the Going Global Stamp Set in Hello Honey and then stamped it again separately in Old Olive.  I fussy cut out “Love” and attached it using dimensionals to give it a lift.  As you can see, the Hello Honey “Love” still peeks through.

Finally, along the top I added a Lost Lagoon Ribbon with an Old Olive Button and a bow out of Old Olive Baker’s Twine.

Global Design Project #022

I was inspired by the Happy Stampers Blog Hop Challenge (see my upline’s participation here) for today’s card.

To say I love these colors together, honestly, would be an understatement.  We have Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, and Old Olive.

My layout inspiration is from the Global Design Project Challenge this week.

GDP022I used the Botanical Gardens DSP as my background and highlighted a bit of Wildflower Fields DSP from underneath Whisper White.  Stamps, including the stars and sentiments, are from the Going Global stamp set.
