To make a masculine card, be it birthday, Father’s Day, or anything really, can be a challenge. Being a man’s card automatically eliminates bows, girly colors, frills, and many other cutesy details.
For this reason, if you find yourself in need of a masculine card I HIGHLY recommend the Going Places DSP. The masculine colors and designs makes putting a card together super easy.
I started with a background of Mossy Meadow and then layered it with Whisper White. I then used two different patterns, one layered on Lost Lagoon and one layered on Mossy Meadow. I used the globe from the Going Global Stamp Set stamped in Lost Lagoon as a center focus of the card.
The sentiment is from the “Crazy About You” Stamp Set and was heat embossed in black.
I’m in love with this beautiful Going Places Designer Series Paper! I love the more masculine designs and colors. When I saw it, I knew I just had to have it – 1: Because we do a lot of traveling as a family and it will be great for scrapbooking and 2: My husband LOVES old world maps so for Father’s Day cards and birthday cards for him – this is perfect!
For today’s card, I started off with a background of Delightful Dijon. I then layered it with a page from the Going Places DSP.
My stamped globe, as well as the sentiment is from the Going Global Stamp Set. I knew I wanted the sentiment “World’s Best Dad” and the arrows as well, but they were on different stamps. First I stamped the “World’s Best Dad” in Basic Black. Then, I covered the other sentiment with Washi Tape (so as to just show the arrows) and inked the stamp. Then I removed the Washi Tape and stamped the arrows under the “World’s Best Dad” sentiment.
For the layered look, I used other designs from the Going Places DSP in Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Delightful Dijon and then finished off with a touch of Linen Thread.
