Stampin’ Up! Ridiculously Quick and Easy Birthday Card

My son turned 12 last week.

Making a card for his birthday wasn’t easy.

He’s not young enough to want cutesy cards and he’s a boy so he doesn’t want frills but he still deserves a great card.  I also always decorate the house and use the same colors for his card so I worked with Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point.

I went with a ridiculously clean and simple card.

My card starts off with Pacific Point cardstock.

I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the circle from the Swirly Frames Stamp Set in Pacific Point ink and the square in Granny Apple Green ink.  I then matted this on Granny Apple Green cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Many Mates Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.  I adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

And there you have it.  Probably the quickest card I’ve ever designed, but he loved it and that’s all that matters.

Stampin’ Up! *NEW Tasteful Touches Thanks Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

I made a simple card today that features three new products from the new Annual Catalog: the Many Mates Stamp Set (sentiment), the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set (flower), and one of the new In Colors, Misty Moonlight.

Did you catch my In Color comparison and unboxing video?  You can check it out here.

My card starts off with Sahara Sand cardstock which I embossed using the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.

Next I cut a panel of Misty Moonlight cardstock and Seaside Spray cardstock and matted them on Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the flower from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set in Versamark ink over the seam of the two.

In the bottom corner I stamped the “You’re So Nice” from the Many Mates Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.

I stamped the “thanks” from the Many Mates Stamp Set in Seaside Spray ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I snipped the end of it and adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
