Stampin’ Up! Ridiculously Awesome Sunshine Card

Looking quickly, you might not believe today’s card was made by me.

One word….yellow.
If you’ve followed my blog or social media for a bit you’ll know how I feel about yellow.

I really detest the color. Yet, when making a sunshine card, only yellow will do, and I really like how it came out.

My card starts off with Daffodil Delight cardstock, which I embossed using the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.

I then used the Stitched Triangles Dies and cut out a bunch of triangles from Daffodil Delight cardstock. I then adhered them over a panel of Basic White cardstock, which I then matted on Basic Black cardstock.

I stamped the “sunshine” from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set in Memento Black ink, which I then fussy cut out and adhered down using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, I stamped the “sending” from the Well Said Stamp Set in Memento Black ink and adhered it next to the sunshine.

Stampin’ Up! Back to School Ridiculously Awesome Card

This year we’ve decided to homeschool our kids.  Lots went into this decision, but we’re pretty excited for the year ahead!

Each year for the kids’ first day of school I always put a handmade card in their lunch box.  I like to think it’s a surprise, but I’ve done it for so long, I don’t think they’re very surprised anymore.

Although this year I didn’t put their card in a lunch box, I did put it next to their school books.  When they went to grab their books this morning for our first day of school, I think, for the first time in a long time, they were surprised.

Maybe they thought because we were homeschooling, they wouldn’t get a card, but this mama wouldn’t skip a year, not even if it’s at home.

Their three cards all used the same layout, but different colors.
For my girl who loves blue…

My card starts off with Misty Moonlight cardstock which I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment and lines from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana ink.  I cut this out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and matted it on Coastal Cabana cardstock.

I used the Stitched Stars Dies to cut out starburst from Coastal Cabana cardstock and two stars from a Coastal Cabana Designer Series Paper pattern.  To make the starburst fit the entire width of the card, I snipped it and hid the seam behind the sentiment.

I then used the same layout, but used Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade for my girl who loves red…

And for my boy, I used Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight…

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Sunday Stamps Challenge.
