Stampin’ Up! Neutral Colors Sea of Textures Card

Today finishes up a series of cards that I created based on colors my three children picked for me.

My oldest daughter picked colors and I made this card, and then I made this card based on my youngest daughter’s colors.

My 11-year-old son picked Early Espresso, Basic Gray, and Smoky Slate.  Phew, these were hard for me as I never solely use neutral colors.  But I was up for the challenge.

My card starts off with Basic Gray cardstock.

I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the net from the Sea of Textures Stamp Set in Early Espresso ink on it.  I then matted it on Early Espresso cardstock.

I stamped the octopus from the Sea of Textures Stamp Set in Basic Gray ink.  I cut it out, as well as other images from Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, and Early Espresso cardstock using the Under the Sea Dies.

I then stamped the sentiment just below all the images in Early Espresso ink.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Sea of Textures Thanks

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card today starts off with Berry Burst cardstock. I then matted a panel of Watercolor Paper on Pool Party cardstock.

Next I took an Aqua Painter and got the Watercolor Paper wet.  I then picked up Pool Party ink and “painted” over the wet area.

When that was dry I stamped the “splotch” and the sentiment in Memento Black ink.  The “splotch” was a last minute add as I somehow got a small patch of black in the corner which needed covering up.

I stamped Mr. Octopus in Berry Burst ink from the Sea of Textures Stamp Set and cut him out and the net as well (from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock) using the Under the Sea Thinlits.  I adhered the octopus down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Sea of Textures Card

Once a month the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop will be combining with the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  We can choose between two challenges and I chose to work with the sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Balmy Blue cardstock on which I adhered a pattern from the Tranquil Textures DSP.

I next matted a piece of Whisper White cardstock on Balmy Blue cardstock and adhered another pattern from the Tranquil Textures DSP to the bottom of that.

I used the Under the Sea Framelits Dies to cut out the various ocean details using Soft Sea Foam, Balmy Blue, Tranquil Tide, and Crumb Cake cardstock.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment twice, first in Versamark ink on Tranquil Tide cardstock which I sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.  The second time I stamped it in Tranquil Tide ink on Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  I fussy cut out the “wonderful” from the latter and adhered it using Stampin’ Dimensionals over the other.

Enjoy!
