Stampin’ Up! Mystery Stamping Birthday Card

Tuesday night my Art & Soul team was invited to participate in this month’s Mystery Stamping.

Ahead of time I give them the measurements and the very vague product they’ll need (eg: three ink colors, a long sentiment, an embossing folder of their choice).

Then I describe each step and what they’re to do. Naturally because we’re all using different product, the cards are similar but each unique.

Here’s what I made as the sample (even though they didn’t see it). Be sure to check out the bottom of this post to see what the team made.

Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Birthday Card

My card starts off with Poppy Parade cardstock.

I then took a panel of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and embossed it using the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I put it next to a pattern from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper and matted it on Basic White cardstock.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Party Puffins Stamp Set in Memento Black ink and cut it out using the Harvest Dies, adhering it down with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the puffin in Memento Black ink and colored him in using Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers. I fussy cut him out and adhered him over the sentiment.

Lastly, I added a couple of rhinestones around the card.

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

Did you catch my card on Wednesday?

I used the Delivering Cheer Stamp and made a super cute Christmas card.

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

It was part of my Facebook live I did last week, in which I also showed this super adorable birthday card using the same Delivering Cheer Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

I made the same basic design but swapped out the Christmas DSP for a pattern from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

Instead of stamping on a Basic White panel, I stamped and then cut it out using the Scalloped Contours Dies.

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

Lastly, instead of paper piecing the present and bow, I paper pieced her skirt using the same pattern of Designer Series Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer Birthday Card

To color in the presents, I used Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, and Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The outside sentiment came from the Sweets & Treats Stamp Set and the inside from the Sunny Sentiments Stamp Set.

If you’re not familiar with paper piecing, you can check out the video below. It’s the beginning of the Christmas card, but I walk you through how to do the skirt.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Birthday Card

You can find inspiration anywhere for paper crafting.

One of my favorite places to turn to for inspiration is Pinterest. It’s jam packed with all things inspiration and not just cards.
You can find nature images and paintings and the such and you can also find a ton of color inspiration.

I’ve actually created a board just for color inspiration and that’s how today’s card came about. Check it out. You’ll even find the inspiration for today’s card that I pinned a couple of days ago!

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Birthday Card

My card starts off Gray Granite cardstock which I covered with a Gray Granite pattern from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Birthday Card

I next took a panel of Basic White cardstock and using the Stamparatus (which is key to getting the perfect alignment of stamped birthdays) I stamped the birthday from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set in So Saffron, Gray Granite, Pear Pizzazz, and Shaded Spruce ink.

I then matted this on a panel of Basic White and adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Birthday Card

Next I stamped the “happy” in Shaded Spruce ink and fussy cut it out, adhering it down with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Birthday Card

I next stamped the balloons from the Hippo Happiness Stamp Set in So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, and Shaded Spruce ink and cut it out with the Hippo & Friends Dies. I stamped the strings in Gray Granite ink and fussy cut them out.

Thanks for checking out my card today.

Isn’t this a beautiful combination of colors. You probably think masculine card when you see it (as I’ve used it today). But I’ve created the same layout, same colors, just a pretty, girly card with flowers and bling.

I’m sharing it this week in my Tips & Updates email. If you don’t already receive it, you can head over here. You’ll get to see the feminine version of today’s card tomorrow!! Don’t miss out!
