Stampin’ Up! Patriotic Thank You Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a theme challenge: Punch It. Have fun hopping through and seeing what everyone’s created this week!

I decided to do a patriotic thank you card.

This card and I struggled a bit. There was a moment of – This just isn’t working (or looking good). Did you see this post?

Well, the card and I made up and worked through our differences, and I really like how it came out.

4 of 9 Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Patriotic Card

My card starts off with Thick Basic White cardstock.

I then took a panel of Vellum and embossed it using the Checks & Dots Embossing folder. It’s a mini embossing folder, so it didn’t cover the complete piece of Vellum.

I couldn’t done a technique that I shared here (fast forward to minute 11), but was feeling lazy and left it as is.

I then used the Ice Cream Builder Punch and cut out scoops from Poppy Parade, Misty Moonlight, and Basic White cardstock. I cut the cone out of Crumb Cake cardstock. I adhered one over the other and adhered them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White panel and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Underneath it I wound around some Silver Trim, which I am currently obsessed with and keep using over and over, and also added a couple of Red Rhinestones over the white scoop.

Stampin’ Up! Color & Contour Thank You Cards

Team pink vs. team purple

I mentioned it this week over on Facebook that people tend to either be team pink or team purple. I was surprised by everyone’s answers. They were pretty 50/50. You can vote for team pink or team purple here.

In honor of team pink vs. team purple, I made two cards today using the same layout, same product, but one pink and one purple. Let me know in the comments which one you prefer 🙂

My card starts off with one of our new In Colors, Polished Pink. I then used the brand new Scalloped Contours Dies to cut out a scalloped piece of Basic White cardstock. I used the same dies, the next size smaller, to cut out a scalloped Melon Mambo pattern from the Brights Designer Series Paper.

This particular pattern is part of the new pack included in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. You get a sampling of it, and all the new Designer Series Paper for that matter, in my Product Share. You can check out all the details here.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Color & Contour Stamp Set in Melon Mambo ink. I used another die from the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut it out.

You’ll notice that the die itself is bigger than the sentiment. Using a simple method, I made the die fit the sentiment. Although not this exact die, check out this video here to see how to make a die fit a sentiment better.

Next I stamped the floral image in Memento Black ink and the inside floral image in Polished Pink. I adhered this to a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet and then cut it out using the same dies. I then wrapped around a piece of Polished Pink ribbon in a knot.

This ribbon is gorgeous, available in all five 2021-2023 In Colors beginning May 4th and in my Product Share as well.

Here’s a look at the same card, same layout but using Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather colors.

So the question is, are you team pink or team purple?

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Ice Cream Card & Video

This week we’re talking all about the new In Colors!

The Color Collection colors are great – but the five new In Colors bring a breath of fresh air! They fill in where we may have a color gap and they coordinate beautifully together and with other Stampin’ Up! colors we already have.

Yesterday I shared a fun card using Soft Succulent. Today I’m sharing a card with Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, and Pale Papaya and I really like how bright and fresh they are together!

My card starts off with Basic White cardstock. I then stamped the ice cream scoops from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set in Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, and Polished Pink, stamping the sprinkles in the same color over it. I stamped the cone in Crumb Cake ink. I cut them out using the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.

I adhered them over one another and then laid them over the card front and traced the edge. I then fussy cut this part out.

Next, I cut out strips of Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, and Pale Papaya cardstock and stamped the sprinkles on them in the coordinating colors. I snipped the end off and adhered them down.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set in Polished Pink ink and cut a bubble around it.

*Be sure to check out the video below to see I cut out the bubble around the sentiment in a super easy way!

Lastly, I added a couple of Pale Papaya Jewels to the card.

If you’re new to card making, check out the card above. It was the inspiration for my fun fold and very easy to replicate!! Give it a try!

Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Thank You Card

I have a great thank you card for you today using the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle.

It fit this week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop perfectly!

My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock, which I covered with a pattern from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.

Good news: The fun In Good Taste DSP will be carrying over into the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!!!

Next, I stamped the sunflower and leaf images from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. I used the new…and gorgeous Soft Succulent (leaves), Pale Papaya, Pumpkin Pie, and Crumb Cake (flower) Stampin’ Blends to color it in. I cut it out using the Sunflower Dies.

Stampin Up Celebrate Sunflowers thank you card

I used the same dies to cut out a few sprigs from Crumb Cake cardstock. I adhered the sunflower down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set in one of the new 2021-2023 In Colors, Soft Succulent, and adhered a small panel of Soft Succulent cardstock underneath.

The new Annual Catalog comes with a new bundle of twine called the Baker’s Twine Essentials Combo Pack, which includes Crumb Cake twine, which I wound around under the sentiment. Lastly, I added a few Gilded Gems.

Next I stamped the window in Misty Moonlight ink and the shutters in Pear Pizzazz ink. In the window I stamped the pot in Smoky Slate and the plant in Pear Pizzazz ink. I cut these out, along with a flower box from Misty Moonlight cardstock using the Window Flower Box Dies, adhering them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Super Simple Free as a Bird Thank You Card

Have you ever had an idea for a card design and wonder if it’ll work…or if it’ll even look good?!

Well, you know me and my fussy cutting, so I had this idea for the Free as a Bird Stamp Set, and I have to say, I really like how it came out.

It’s definitely a super simple card, but the “wow” is in the fancy cutting on the bottom.

I took a panel of Thick Basic White cardstock.

Using the Stamparatus was key. I first stamped the birds from the Free as a Bird Stamp Set on the front of the card, then opened it up and stamped them again on the inside in Memento Black ink. Using the Stamparatus ensured that I would stamp both birds in the exact same spot on the outside and on the inside.

I then colored the image in using Crumb Cake (branch), Granny Apple Green (leaf), Daffodil Delight (flower), Smoky Slate (birds), Petal Pink and Calypso Coral (birds) Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Then, using my Paper Snips, I fussy cut out the birds on the card front so the birds on the inside show through.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Free as a Bird Stamp Set in Memento Black ink and cut it out using the Tasteful Labels Dies, as well as wound some Linen Thread underneath.

Thanks for checking out my project today!!!

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Square Thank You Card

Last Thursday on Facebook, I challenged you to use your Designer Series Paper.

With the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog coming to a close, I’m trying to use up the last bits of my Designer Series Paper.
I mean, we have to make room for all the new goodies, don’t we?!

So I have a really quick, simple, just #simplestamping, no die cutting, card for today.

My card starts off with Pretty Peacock cardstock, which by the way, will be retiring for good the end of April. It would be a great idea to stock up on this color while it’s still available!

Next I cut a pattern from the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper almost square – 1/8″ shorter width wise and then cut it on a diagonal.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Forever Fern Stamp Set in Pear Pizzazz ink and a fern in Pretty Peacock ink on a square piece of Basic White cardstock, matting a panel of Pretty Peacock cardstock behind it.

I then wound around a piece of the Pretty Peacock/Old Olive ribbon behind the square, adhering it down with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
