Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons – SIP Challenge 155

There’s nothing like new Designer Series Paper to inspire you.

Someone recently asked me how do you decide what colors to use for a card.
Well, many times I pick colors that Stampin’ Up! has put together in Designer Series Paper.

The great thing is Stampin Up marks right on the bag of the packet of paper what colors are in it/coordinate with it.

For today’s card I was inspired by the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper and in particular the one pattern in the upper right hand corner.

My card starts off with Mango Melody cardstock.  I then matted a piece of Whisper White cardstock on Melon Mambo cardstock.

I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to cut out a bunch of flowers to cascade down the card.  I used all the pinks and oranges from the Garden Impressions DSP:  Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Powder Pink, So Saffron, and Mango Melody.

I cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits from Melon Mambo cardstock.  The DSP also had a hint of Soft Sea Foam, so I used that cardstock to cut out an Adirondack chair.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Mango Melody.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  I chose my design for this challenge because summers always mean hikes in nearby mountains which happen to be the Adirondack Mountains – it’s where the type of chair in the die cut got its name – “Adirondack chair.”  I also love all the bright, vibrant colors in the flowers in summer.

Today is Wednesday which means one thing….Facebook Live Tutorial tonight!!

Stampin’ Up! Tropical Chic Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Granny Apple Green cardstock.  Next I mounted some Whisper White cardstock on a panel of Shaded Spruce cardstock.  I then cut a pattern from the Tropical Escape DSP on an angle to adhere to the card.

I used the new Tropical Chic Bundle (stamp set & matching framelits saves you 10%) for the cluster of tropical leaves.  I used Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, and Blushing Bride ink and cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set in Blushing Bride ink and tied a bow through one of the Tropical Elements to adhere to the corner of it.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Waterfront Thank You

I love versatility.

Sometimes I get stamp sets just because I like them and I think they’re fun, but many times when I look at a stamp set I try to think about how many different ways I can use it.

The Waterfront Stamp Set is carrying over from the Occasions Catalog and I think it is so versatile – from the beach to the mountains, for sympathy cards or for masculine ones, and then the big one – scrapbooking.

In the Annual Catalog, Stampin’ Up! has put together some bundles with coordinating product.  This is brilliant!!!  If you’re just starting out and not sure where to begin or if you find all the product overwhelming – these bundles are for you!!!

And there happens to be a bundle with this Waterfront Stamp Set.  You can check it out here.

My card today starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I stamped the dots from the Waterfront Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay ink along the sides.

Next I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I created my scene using the Waterfront Stamp Set and Crumb Cake (mountains), Bermuda Bay (water), Pineapple Punch (sun), and Early Espresso (house) inks.

Using the Layering Circles Framelits, I cut out a circle from the middle of it.  I matted the cardstock on a panel of Pineapple Punch cardstock and wound around a Linen Thread bow.  I adhered it to the card and then stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink.

I adhered the cut out circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature Thank You

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

Today’s card uses a fun technique using the Stamparatus.  I’ve seen it done a few times and wanted to try it out for myself.

My card starts off with Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  Next I adhered a pattern from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

Next I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and lined it up on the Stamparatus.  I inked up the trunk from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink and the top in Pumpkin Pie ink and pressed it on the paper.  Then I took a dauber and added hints of Rich Razzleberry to the top of the tree and pressed it down.  Lastly, I used a dauber and added hints of Real Red to the tree and Early Espresso to the trunk and pressed it down.  The result is so pretty!

I matted the Whisper White first on Real Red and then using dimensionals on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

I wrapped around some Rich Razzleberry twine from the Nature’s Twine pack in a bow.  I stamped the sentiment from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set (using the Washi Tape technique) in Versamark ink.  I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper and Global Design Project challenges.

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight Thank You

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card today starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock.

Next I took a panel of Night of Navy cardstock and stamped daisies on it in Night of Navy ink.  I mounted it on Whisper White cardstock and adhered it to the card.

Next I took a pattern from the Delightfully Daisy DSP and matted it on Whisper White cardstock.

I saw another demo do this and if you know who, please let me know, as I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw it.  I took the smallest circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits and cut out two notches from the paper.  I wound around a Mint Macaron Twine Bow (available June 1st).

I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy on Whisper White cardstock.

Lastly, I stamped the daisy image twice in Versamark ink on Night of Navy cardstock.  I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it with a heat tool.  I cut it out using the Daisy Punch.  I added a silver embellishment to the center of it.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Abstract Impressions – 1 Card – 3 Ways

I find that everyone has a certain aesthetic to crafting and particularly in card making.

You either like a lot of frill or you don’t.
You either like lots of layers or you don’t.
You either like to take your time or you want to whip them out quick.

For this reason, this past Facebook Live Tutorial video was all about making one card – 3 different ways.  Whether you like a simpler card or a more detailed card – they’re all beautiful and the recipient will love it no matter what!

I called these cards, my “bronze” version, “silver” version, and “gold” version.  Each one adds just a bit more detail than the previous card.

The Abstract Impressions Stamp is from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog which is available June 1st!  You’ll definitely want to add this one to your wish list!

I do a Facebook Live Tutorial every Wednesday night at 7:30 pm EST.  If you watch live and leave a comment, at the end I’ll draw a name for someone to receive that night’s card!

If you ever miss a video, I always post them on YouTube.

Stampin’ Up! Petal Passion Thank You Card

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge is a color challenge!

Oh the possibilities with these colors!  I sure hope you’ll play along with us!

My card today starts off with Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I next took a panel of Marina Mist cardstock and used the Petal Pair embossing folder to emboss the flower imprint down the middle of it.

I next took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Old Olive cardstock.  I took a pattern from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper to create my flower.  I used the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers to color in one of the flowers and then I fussy cut it out.

I adhered the flower down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This paper is great to color in because it has darkened areas in it already.  So I took the dark Stampin’ Blends markers and went over the darkened areas and then used the light Stampin’ Blends markers in the rest of the flower.

I then wiped the flower with the Embossing Buddy.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink from the Petal Palette Stamp Set.  I then sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it.

Enjoy!

Daisy Delight Thank You

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

Here in Upstate New York, we’re having the wackiest weather.  Yesterday it was cloudy and rainy in the morning, the sun came out in the afternoon and it hit 50 degrees, and it snowed at night.

So I obviously can’t control the weather, but what I can do is make bright, spring-y cards!

I start today’s card off with Marina Mist cardstock.  I stamped right over the front of it with the Hardwood stamp set in Marina Mist ink.

I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped two stems/leaves on it.  I stamped the petals separately in Marina Mist ink and cut them out using the Daisy Punch.  I adhered the petals down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I matted the Whisper White on Old Olive cardstock and then adhered everything to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it with the heat tool.  I added a small pattern from the Sweet Soiree Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card.

Enjoy!
