Stampin’ Up! Witty-Cisms Taco Birthday Card

My youngest daughter just turned 10 this past week.

With my kids’ birthdays, I always decorate the house (in whatever their favorite colors are at the time) and I also make their birthday card to coordinate with it.

My youngest’s favorite colors right now are black and red and she is obsessed with tacos!  So I knew the Witty-Cisms Stamp Set would be perfect for her card.

But I also knew I wanted to stamp the taco a bunch of times and in order to make it easier and quicker (as opposed to using the washi tape technique) I decided to cut up the solid stamp into three pieces.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.

Next I took a panel of Real Red cardstock and stamped the taco all over the front of it in Real Red ink.  I then matted this on Basic Black cardstock.

I stamped the taco three times in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored it in using Mango Melody, Light Soft Suede, and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I used the Layering Circle Dies to cut out Basic Black scalloped circles and to cut out the tacos.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiments from the Witty-Cisms Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! NEW Witty-Cisms Cards

I love a fun, punny sentiment.

I think they’re a fun play on words, so when I saw the Witty-Cisms Stamp Set in the 2020 Jan-June Mini Catalog, I knew it was a must!

I created four quick and simple cards with this stamp set using the Scalloped Note Cards and Envelopes.

I coordinated each with a pattern of DSP from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (except for the strawberry one, where I used a Poppy Parade pattern).

I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment/image and the Stitched Labels Dies to add a stitched edge along the bottom.

Each sentiment/image was stamped in Memento Black ink and colored in using various Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I used the masking technique to stamp each image on the envelope as well in Memento Black ink.

The Witty-Cisms is a great new stamp set and will be available beginning Jan 3!

Enjoy!
