Scrapbooking

Welcome to my scrapbook!  I have yet to really share with you my first love, before cards, scrapbooking.

I have three kiddos, girl, boy, girl, and when I started I decided to make a scrapbook for them each.  For now it means a lot more work, but in the long run they each have something to call their own.  And honestly, once I get the layout for one, I just do it basically the same two more times.

I began about 2-1/2 years ago and honestly started in the present, so my kids have traditional photo albums of their baby and toddler years.  My kids LOVE their scrapbooks and when I come home from my scrapbook weekend in the fall, it’s not – Hi mommy, we missed you, but – Can I see my scrapbook?

So alas, here we go…

When I set up my double layout, I am not necessarily doing the same event or occasion or even day (although in this one I am) but I like them to be somewhat matchy-matchy.  For this one I used the 2015-2017 In-Colors and Cherry on Top DSP.

You’ll also see that I 99.9% of the time will mat my pictures.  It’s a habit and it can’t be broken.

I also tend to take a ton of pictures and love them all, so my layouts rarely have 2 or less pictures on them.

For what will be the page on the right, I used Cucumber Crush as my background color and highlighted with Crushed Curry and Tip Top Taupe.  I made a panel of banners using the Cherry on Top DSP, Crushed Curry Ribbon, 2015-2017 Washi Tape and then a detail of a Crushed Curry Button and Linen Thread.

For the page that will be on the left, I used a background color of Tip Top Taupe with the pictures matted in Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder.  The sentiment “Hooray” and “You Did It” is also from the Perfect Pairings Stamp Set.
