Stampin’ Up! Sea of Textures Card

Once a month the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop will be combining with the Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  We can choose between two challenges and I chose to work with the sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Balmy Blue cardstock on which I adhered a pattern from the Tranquil Textures DSP.

I next matted a piece of Whisper White cardstock on Balmy Blue cardstock and adhered another pattern from the Tranquil Textures DSP to the bottom of that.

I used the Under the Sea Framelits Dies to cut out the various ocean details using Soft Sea Foam, Balmy Blue, Tranquil Tide, and Crumb Cake cardstock.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment twice, first in Versamark ink on Tranquil Tide cardstock which I sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set.  The second time I stamped it in Tranquil Tide ink on Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  I fussy cut out the “wonderful” from the latter and adhered it using Stampin’ Dimensionals over the other.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons – SIP Challenge 155

There’s nothing like new Designer Series Paper to inspire you.

Someone recently asked me how do you decide what colors to use for a card.
Well, many times I pick colors that Stampin’ Up! has put together in Designer Series Paper.

The great thing is Stampin Up marks right on the bag of the packet of paper what colors are in it/coordinate with it.

For today’s card I was inspired by the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper and in particular the one pattern in the upper right hand corner.

My card starts off with Mango Melody cardstock.  I then matted a piece of Whisper White cardstock on Melon Mambo cardstock.

I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to cut out a bunch of flowers to cascade down the card.  I used all the pinks and oranges from the Garden Impressions DSP:  Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Powder Pink, So Saffron, and Mango Melody.

I cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits from Melon Mambo cardstock.  The DSP also had a hint of Soft Sea Foam, so I used that cardstock to cut out an Adirondack chair.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Mango Melody.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  I chose my design for this challenge because summers always mean hikes in nearby mountains which happen to be the Adirondack Mountains – it’s where the type of chair in the die cut got its name – “Adirondack chair.”  I also love all the bright, vibrant colors in the flowers in summer.

Stampin’ Up! Rooted in Nature – HSS#292

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments #292 Challenge is a fun sketch challenge!  Be sure to play along!

I used the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set to create a clean, minimalist card for the challenge.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I then took two patterns from the Nature’s Poem DSP, offset them from one another, and adhered them to the card front.

I then took a panel of Vellum cardstock and stamped the two leaves twice from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Versamark ink.  I sprinkled them with White Embossing Powder and heat set them.  I adhered the Vellum down using Tombow liquid glue, as I find this does not show through.

I stamped the sentiment from the Another Wonderful Year Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Grapefruit Grove cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it down.

Finally, I added two Adhesive Backed Sequins to the corner and tied a Linen Thread bow for the other.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Expressions Congrats Baby Card

I Love – Love – Love the new Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper.  It coordinates with the Twinkle, Twinkle Suite from the Annual Catalog.

Of course this suite is designed with baby projects in mind, but this paper has so many possibilities beyond that.  I love the colors in the pattern I used for my card today.

I love stripes and the Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Pool Party, and Night of Navy are so sweet together!!

I also thought I’d try my hand at a simple fancy fold – It’s kind of like an inverted match box.

I started off with Pool Party cardstock.  I then matted a pattern from the Twinkle Twinkle DSP on Whisper White cardstock.

I then stamped the sentiment from the new Friendly Expressions Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Night of Night cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.

I cut out a Petal Pink heart using the Sunshine Wishes Framelits Dies, making sure only to adhere the top part of the heart down and not the bottom.  I wrapped around a Medium Night of Navy Baker’s Twine bow to hold the card shut.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy ink and comes from the Special Celebrations stamp set.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Inspire. Create. Challenge.

I’ve been so busy cutting up and prepping my Product Shares that I really haven’t had time to play with my new Annual Catalog goodies.

So I was so excited yesterday to pull out the Love You To Pieces Bundle for my Facebook Live Tutorial.

This is a fun set and I knew I “needed” it because my girls and I LOVE doing puzzles in the fall and around Christmas.  I can’t wait to scrapbook with this bundle!

I had to move my Facebook Live Tutorial to Friday night because of a scheduling conflict, but normally they’re Wednesday night at 7:30 pm EST.  If you catch it live and leave a comment, at the end I draw a name for someone to receive that night’s card!

If you ever miss a tutorial, you can always catch them on YouTube.

Stampin’ Up! Tropical Chic Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Granny Apple Green cardstock.  Next I mounted some Whisper White cardstock on a panel of Shaded Spruce cardstock.  I then cut a pattern from the Tropical Escape DSP on an angle to adhere to the card.

I used the new Tropical Chic Bundle (stamp set & matching framelits saves you 10%) for the cluster of tropical leaves.  I used Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, and Blushing Bride ink and cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set in Blushing Bride ink and tied a bow through one of the Tropical Elements to adhere to the corner of it.

Enjoy!

My card was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Roots Sympathy Card

Label. Cut. Package. Repeat.

I’ve been a busy little bee getting my product shares ready.

The best part of product share prep is getting my hands on all the new product.  I’ve fallen in love with the Basic Backed Sequins – GORGEOUS! And the Mini Ruffled Ribbons – the catalog just doesn’t do them justice.

Tomorrow I start cutting DSP – can’t wait!

My card today starts off with Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cut a banner from a pattern from the Nature’s Poem DSP.

I took a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock and another pattern from the Nature’s Poem DSP and offset them from one another.

I used the Nature’s Roots Thinlits and Blackberry Bliss cardstock to cut out a leaf.  I love how these thinlits both cut out, as well as emboss images!  I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink from the Better Together stamp set.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Springtime Impressions Card

This month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop them is “birthdays!”  I can’t wait to see what everyone created as birthday cards are just one of those things I’m constantly sending out.

My card today starts off with Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  I then took a panel of Bermuda Bay cardstock and embossed it using the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I matted this on Whisper White cardstock and adhered it to the card.

Next I used the Spring Impressions Thinlits to cut out the intricate flower from Watercolor Paper.  I then used the Layering Circles Framelits to trim it down to a circle.  I used an Aqua Painter and Lovely Lipstick, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Call Me Clover, and Pineapple Punch inks to color in the flowers.

I cut out a Whisper White scalloped circle to go behind it.  Next I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set.  I wound behind it some Silver Thread.

Stampin’ Up! Waterfront Thank You

I love versatility.

Sometimes I get stamp sets just because I like them and I think they’re fun, but many times when I look at a stamp set I try to think about how many different ways I can use it.

The Waterfront Stamp Set is carrying over from the Occasions Catalog and I think it is so versatile – from the beach to the mountains, for sympathy cards or for masculine ones, and then the big one – scrapbooking.

In the Annual Catalog, Stampin’ Up! has put together some bundles with coordinating product.  This is brilliant!!!  If you’re just starting out and not sure where to begin or if you find all the product overwhelming – these bundles are for you!!!

And there happens to be a bundle with this Waterfront Stamp Set.  You can check it out here.

My card today starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I stamped the dots from the Waterfront Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay ink along the sides.

Next I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I created my scene using the Waterfront Stamp Set and Crumb Cake (mountains), Bermuda Bay (water), Pineapple Punch (sun), and Early Espresso (house) inks.

Using the Layering Circles Framelits, I cut out a circle from the middle of it.  I matted the cardstock on a panel of Pineapple Punch cardstock and wound around a Linen Thread bow.  I adhered it to the card and then stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink.

I adhered the cut out circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Abstract Impressions – Stamparatus

Happy Friday!

Any fun plans for the weekend?

As we speak, I am spending the whole day with 22 second graders for my kids’ school Field Day.  I always walk away from Field Day (or any time spent at school) thinking how in the world do teachers do it?!?!  My hats off to all the teachers out there!

My card today is a fun and bright one that uses the Stamparatus…

I know – two days in a row!!

I start off with Pool Party cardstock.  I next took a panel of Whisper White cardstock (which will be matted on Berry Burst cardstock) and put it on the base of the Stamparatus.

I used the larger of the “flower” images from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set and stuck it to the hinge of the Stamparatus.  I inked it up in Berry Burst ink and pressed down.  Then I unhinged it, moved it to the next lower hinge, and repeated this all the way down.  This way the “flowers” are all perfectly spaced out.  I did the same thing for the smaller flower in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

I adhered a banner of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and wound around it a Linen Thread bow.  Using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, I cut out a Pool Party oval and stamped the sentiment from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set in Versamark.  I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it.

I adhered the oval using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Sunday Stamps Challenge.
