Stampin’ Up! Hydrangea Haven Acetate Card

Happy March!

Here’s hoping it behaves more like a lamb and not a lion and brings spring quickly.
Don’t get me wrong – I love me some snow.

But come March, I’m ready for tulips, sunshine, and fresh air!

I had a customer ask recently if I could make a card using the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Acetate, so here we go…

My card starts off with Purple Posy cardstock, although I cut the bottom off the front from where the acetate starts down.

I then cut a piece of the Hydrangea Mercury Acetate at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, adhering it to the Purple Posy card front. One side of this acetate has purple hues and the other side is silver. I put the silver side out.

Next, I took a pattern from the Hydrangea Hill DSP, cut it down to cover the top and bottom, matted it on Basic White cardstock, and adhered it over the acetate.

Next I stamped the “filler” image from the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set in Old Olive ink. I cut it out, as well as a Purple Posy petal detail, and Old Olive leaf detail using the Hydrangea Dies. I adhered this over the acetate using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set in Gorgeous Grape ink, cutting it out with the same dies.

On the inside, I added a piece of the same pattern of Hydrangea Hill DSP and stamped some of the flowers in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

NEW Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Card #2

On Wednesday, I shared a card that I made last week live.
It features the brand new Butterfly Brilliance Collection.

Honestly, I feel this collection should come with a warning. You will open it up, start creating with it, and not want to get up. You will neglect all household duties, replace meals for pieces of chocolate, and form a butt impression in your chair from not getting up….it’s THAT good!

For me the star of the collection is the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper – it is GORGEOUS!!!!

My card today starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock and then layers over the front one of the patterns in the Butterfly Bijou DSP.

I then took a panel of Basic White cardstock and used the “basket weave” die from the Brilliant Wings Dies to add some texture to it. I then matted this on Basic Black cardstock.

Now, one of the patterns in the Butterfly Bijou DSP fits perfectly with the outline die in the Brilliant Wings Dies to cut out six gorgeous butterflies!!! I adhered three of these to the card front.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and cut it out using the Tasteful Labels Dies. Underneath it I wound around a bit of Pool Party ribbon and added a few rhinestones around.

If you buy the Butterfly Brilliance Collection in March through my store, I’ll mail you out a free class to go!!!

This class makes four cards using the collection. Included will be all the makings for the four cards except for the Memento Black Ink. In addition, you will also be emailed the four PDF instructions to make the cards.

If you wish to just purchase the PDF instructions, you can do so here.

Stampin’ Up! Friends are like Seashells Fun Fold Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop theme is fun fold cards! Have fun hopping through the blogs to see what everyone made!

My card starts off with Seaside Spray cardstock, which I cut off a piece off the side of the card front.

I then matted two patterns from the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper on Basic White cardstock, one for the front and one for the inside.

I took a panel of Basic White cardstock and scored it in half. I adhered half of it to the inside of the card, with the other half covering the card front (not adhered). I matted another pattern from the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper on Basic White and adhered it to this panel.

I cut out three seashells from yet another pattern from the Sand & Sea DSP (I really love this DSP and how well all the patterns coordinate together) and adhered those to the front.

I then stamped one sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on a banner of Basic White cardstock for the front and another sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink to the inside.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

NEW Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Video Tutorial

New product is always exciting.

But Stampin’ Up! really outdid themselves with the Butterfly Brilliance Collection. This collection will be available beginning March 2nd and includes a beautiful bundle, even more beautiful Designer Series Paper, and great specialty paper that has texture to it!

I’ve been playing around a lot with this product and I’m telling you – you’re going to LOVE it!!!

If you buy the Butterfly Brilliance Collection through my store in March, you will receive a free class to go that includes the makings for four cards using this product, as well as PDF instructions on how to put them together, for free!!!

And I LOVE these cards so much – I really wish I could just show them to you.

If you’d prefer to just buy the PDF instructions by themselves, you can do that also using this form.

You will notice that the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle (stamp set & coordinating dies) will carry over to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. However, the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and Natural Touch Specialty Paper are available only through May 3rd.

*Please note that tonight my Facebook live is canceled. Today is my 20th anniversary!!!!! I feel like that’s an accomplishment and although we were supposed to be celebrating on a warm, sunny island far south from here with a fun umbrella drink, we are still getting away for a few days to celebrate. I’ll be back next week!

Stampin’ Up! Simply Succulents Extraordinary Card

Last week I shared a sweet and easy fun fold card using the beautiful Simply Succulents Bundle for my YouTube live.

Unfortunately, I have to cancel today’s live as I have a doctor’s appointment….which by the way, I was reminded today by one of my kids how badly I need to keep my calendar updated. If it wasn’t for one of them, I wouldn’t have realized the double booking.

Anyone else have a horrible memory?!

My card starts off with Mint Macaron cardstock. I then scored a diagonal to the card front. I then cut down a piece of Golden Garden Acetate to adhere to the card. I then adhered down the flap from the fold using Tear & Tape adhesive.

Next I stamped two succulents and bucket in Memento Black ink. I colored them in using Soft Sea Foam, Mossy Meadow, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Highland Heather, and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Markers. I cut them out, and the aloe and hanging plant, using the coordinating Potted Succulents Dies.

I then adhered them over a Basic White circle which I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Dies.

For the inside, I adhered a pattern from the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper to the top. I adhered a panel of Basic White cardstock to the bottom and I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party ink.

Thanks for checking out my project today!!

Stampin’ Up! Free as a Bird Thank You Card

Happy Monday everyone!

We’re here back to the routine…homeschooling and our regular schedule. It’s sort of bitter sweet!

My card starts off with Rococo Rose cardstock, which I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.

I then took a Rococo Rose pattern from the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper and stamped the birds from the Free as a Bird Stamp Set in Rococo Rose ink. I matted it on Basic White cardstock and cut the ends of it off.

On a separate piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped the leaf from the Free as a Bird in the corner in Rococo Rose ink. I adhered the cut pieces of the Oh So Ombre on either side of the Basic White panel.

I adhered the cut piece over the Basic White panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Rococo Rose ink.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Anyone else taking a sigh of relief that it’s Friday.

Stampin’ Up! Art Galley – Just Want To Say

Last week I did a YouTube live showing how to make this sweet card. The Floral Gallery Dies cut out this cute saying “just want to say” that can make so many different sentiments, but I wanted to use the negative of it.

I’ll be back today on my YouTube channel at 1:00 EST. Be sure to head over to my channel and subscribe so you don’t miss anything!!

My card starts off with Poppy Parade cardstock, but I covered with a pattern from the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper. I then wrapped around a piece of Fine Art Ribbon.

Next I took a panel of Basic White cardstock and cut out the words using the Floral Gallery Dies. I adhered this over a panel of Poppy Parade cardstock and glued the small pieces of the word back.

Next, I took one of the floral images from the Art Gallery Stamp Set and colored the petals in using the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker and the stem and leaf in using the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker. I cut this out with the same dies and adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thanks for checking out my project today!
