Spotlight Technique

For today’s card share, I’m playing with the spotlight technique.

I started with a base color of Watermelon Wonder and layered it with some Whisper White. Before securing it down, I placed some of the new Mini Striped Watermelon Wonder Ribbon to the left.

I then first stamped the trunk and leaves from the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set in Memento Black. I like this black because it’s not as potent as the Archival Black and it gave the effect I wanted.

I then stamped the trunk in Soft Suede and the leaves in Watermelon Wonder on a separate, smaller piece of Whisper White. I layered this over some Basic Black cardstock and then layered it (as best I could in the right spot) over the Memento Black tree.

I chose a smaller sentiment for today’s card as I wanted something simple and minimal. The thank you comes from the Thoughtful Banner Stamp Set and was stamped in Watermelon Wonder.
