Stampin’ Up! Falling For Leaves – Thinking of You

As we speak I am away at a scrapbooking retreat.

As much as I love card making, scrapbooking is my first love, but I really only work on it during this weekend away.

I work on three different books – one for each of my kids.  I plan on posting pictures along the way on my Facebook page, so be sure to swing by to see what I’m working on.

My card today starts off with Mint Macaron cardstock.  I next stamped the Buffalo Check stamp set in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Whisper White cardstock.

I wrapped a Mint Macaron bow around the card front.  This ribbon is part of the Nature’s Twine pack.

Using the Detailed Leaf Thinlits, I cut out the bottom leaf from Crumb Cake cardstock and the top (more detailed) leaf from Crushed Curry cardstock.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Falling For Leaves Stamp Set in Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Layering Circles Framelits.  I used the same framelits to cut out a Mint Macaron scalloped circle.  I adhered this down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

I took a pattern from the Country Lane Designer Series Paper and stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.  Before adhering it down, I glued down a piece of Chicken Wire.

Next I stamped the vase and flowers from the Country Home Stamp Set in Memento Black ink and then colored it in using Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I fussy cut this out and adhered it over the DSP.

Lastly I added two banners to the corner, one from Mint Macaron cardstock and one from a pattern from the Country Lane Designer Series Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Thank You

I sure hope you’re having a great week.

I have been a lean-mean crafting machine as I’m doing a craft fair this weekend – making lots of super cute and fun doo-daas.

I hope to post some pictures Saturday on my Facebook page.  Wish me luck!

My card today is all fall!!

It starts off with Crushed Curry cardstock which I embossed using the Simply Stripes Embossing Folder.

I then took a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock (to be matted on Mossy Meadow cardstock) and used the Painted Harvest stamp set to stamp sunflowers across it.  I used Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze inks to stamp the sunflowers.

I used the masking technique to stamp the leaves in Mossy Meadow ink around the sunflowers.

Lastly I did some layering with a Very Vanilla banner, punched Mossy Meadow leaves, and Very Vanilla Polka Dot ribbon.  For the sentiment, I stamped it in Versamark ink on Cajun Craze cardstock.  I sprinkled it with white embossing powder, heat set it, and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Enjoy!

Today’s card is inspired by this week’s The Paper Players challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Give Thanks Blog Hop

Today marks a new Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge.  Be sure to play along this week!

This is a beautiful fall theme challenge and I thought it worked perfectly with this month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop theme which is “Giving Thanks.”

My card starts off with Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  I then took a panel of Mango Melody cardstock and embossed it using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

Using the Layering Circles Framelits I cut out a circle first from the Mango Melody cardstock.  I traced the cut circle on a panel of Whisper White cardstock and on the Pumpkin Pie card front.  I then lined up the circle framelit over and cut them out.

I stamped the sunflower image from the Many Blessings stamp set on a panel of Whisper White cardstock to be adhered inside the card.  I also stamped the wreath on a separate panel of Whisper White cardstock in Memento Black ink.

I used Dark Mango Melody (inside of sunflower and highlight on leaf), Light Daffodil Delight (edge of sunflower), Dark & Light Granny Apple Green (leaves), Smokey Slate (jar), Light Pumpkin Pie (highlight on leaf), and Light Crumb Cake (inside of sunflower) Stampin’ Blends Markers to color the images in.

I used the wreath from the Many Blessings Stamp Set, but made it a complete circle by using the masking technique.  I stamped the wreath first in Memento Black ink.  I then covered the two ends with a piece of scrap paper.  I very carefully only inked up a bit of the wreath again and stamped the image, connecting the two ends.

I then fussy cut the wreath out and adhered it over the cicle.

I stamped the sentiment from the Many Blessings Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock.  I used the Detailed Trio Punch to cut the ends and the hole for the tag.  I wove through some Linen Thread and tied a Braided Linen ribbon over it.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Country Home Thanks

Hello friends!

I love the product suites that Stampin’ Up! puts together in their catalogs.

It’s a combination of stamps, Designer Series Paper, ribbon, and embellishments that all coordinate together.  It’s a sure win that all the elements will look great today.  Makes card making so easy.

Today’s card uses the Country Lane Product Suite.

My card starts off with Old Olive cardstock which I covered with a pattern from the Country Lane DSP.  I then matted a panel of Old Olive cardstock on Whisper White cardstock.

I then stamped the images from the Country Home Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Markers to color it in.  I cut it out using the Layering Ovals Framelits.

I cut down the Chicken Wire embellishment which went under the vase which I adhered down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Country Home Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s TGIF Challenges.

Stampin’ Up! Falling For Leaves Note Cards

I don’t usually make square cards.  In fact, I can count on my right hand how many I’ve made.

However, I thought I’d make some small thank you note cards.  I figured I’d make them 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ so they could still fit in the standard envelope.

But then I couldn’t decide what color combination to use…so I did one of each 🙂  Which one is your favorite?

I started off with one color as the base to the card, cutting it 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.

I then matted another color on Whisper White to adhere to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment from the Falling For Leaves Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.

I then used the Detailed Leaves Thinlits to cut out the detailed leaf in another color and  a Whisper White leaf to mat it on.   I also cut out a scalloped detail using the same thinlits.

Here’s a picture of all three cards today.  I really love how they came out- simple, but pretty.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and The Paper Players.

Next I matted a panel of Whisper White cardstock on Mango Melody cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set in the bottom corner using Shaded Spruce ink.  I added a Granny Apple Green Glitter Enamel Dot.

I cut out a Mango Melody cardstock banner.  I used the Stamparatus and the Tropical Chic stamp set to create my flower and leaf.  I stamped the flower in Mango Melody first and then went over it with hints of Poppy Parade using a Sponge Dauber.  I did the same for the leaf using Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce ink.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Neutral Color Palette Thank You

Happy Labor Day everyone!!!

I know for many kids/families school has already begun, but for us in Upstate New York school begins this Thursday.  So Labor Day is always sort of the last goodbye to summer.  It seems like it always goes so fast.

So have fun and be safe!!

I wanted to try a neutral color scheme for today’s card.  I did head over to my Facebook page for some advice.  As you know, Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper is gorgeous.

Well, when I flipped over the neutral side (that I used), there was this beautiful Grapefruit Grove pattern and I felt torn as to which to use.

So I asked people what they thought and it was pretty divided, so this is what I went with – neutral card, hint of color.  What would you have picked?  Head over to my Facebook page to see the other option.

My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock.  I then took a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock, embossed it using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder, and matted it on Soft Suede cardstock.

I tucked a Colored Doily behind a pattern from the Nature’s Poem DSP for the card front.  I them stamped the sentiment from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and added a few Grapefruit Grove pearls.

Lastly I stamped the leaves from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and cut them out using the Nature’s Roots Framelits.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Stampin’ Up! Sea of Textures Thanks

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card today starts off with Berry Burst cardstock. I then matted a panel of Watercolor Paper on Pool Party cardstock.

Next I took an Aqua Painter and got the Watercolor Paper wet.  I then picked up Pool Party ink and “painted” over the wet area.

When that was dry I stamped the “splotch” and the sentiment in Memento Black ink.  The “splotch” was a last minute add as I somehow got a small patch of black in the corner which needed covering up.

I stamped Mr. Octopus in Berry Burst ink from the Sea of Textures Stamp Set and cut him out and the net as well (from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock) using the Under the Sea Thinlits.  I adhered the octopus down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Enjoy!
