This past weekend I reached out on Facebook for advice on how to color in the By The Dock images for today’s card.
There wasn’t a clear winner, so I decided to go in a different direction…
Directly stamp on watercolor paper and use an Aqua Painter to color them in.
My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock. Next I took a panel of Balmy Blue cardstock and embossed it using the Corrugated Embossing Folder.
I then took a panel of Watercolor Paper and stamped the images from the By The Dock Stamp Set in Stazon Black ink. I used an Aqua Painter to color in the images – Soft Suede for the dock, Crumb Cake for the boat, and very subtle Balmy Blue around them.
I then matted this on Soft Suede cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment from the By The Dock Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Soft Suede cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it. I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I adhered this down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Enjoy!

Wow, LOVE this, Jaimie – crumb and blue go so well together, and this is wonderful inspiration for this set! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
Love this card, Jaimie!! what size is the square of water color paper?
I’m sorry I mail my cards out almost right away so I don’t know. My guess would be 3-3/4×3-3/4 or 3-1/2×3-1/2.
