Hey, Chick

I’ve had these silly little chickens/egg since the beginning of Sale-a-bration, not quite sure what to do with them.

So I decided to just dive in and embrace their craziness.

I stamped the four images in Archival Black on watercolor paper.  I used an aqua painter and a slew of inks to color the chickens/egg in (Watermelon Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Marina Mist, Smoky Slate).

I then cut the images out using the Layering Circle Framelits and overlapped them over each other using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Watermelon Wonder and added some Striped Watermelon Wonder Ribbon underneath it.

The inspiration for my card today comes from this week’s challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

  1. This is one of those cards where I find myself saying “Why didn’t I think of that?” I LOVE how you showcased the stamps from Hey Chick in the circles. Your coloring and your choice of colors couldn’t be better. Yep, I’m in love. Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  2. Oh, so cute! What a perfect take on the sketch and wonderful watercoloring of the chicks. You gave time and attention to Phyllis’ hair–love her streaks of color! (Doesn’t her hair remind you of Phyllis Diller?) Thanks for sharing your great card.

  3. PERFECT use of the sketch and of the stamp set!! They are so funny and it’s so whimsical with the circles! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
