Christmas Clean and Simple

Yesterday I got back from a glorious four day scrapbooking retreat in Lake Placid, NY.  As if just being in this amazing place wasn’t enough, I had the pleasure of scrapping to my heart’s desire.

As much as I love creating cards and projects, scrapbooking is my first love.  I really only do it at this retreat as I struggle creating under a time pressure (or need to keep my station clean pressure).  At the retreat we each have our own station and we just create and create and create.

Now for my card today…

You’d think that being surrounded by pretty paper and ink and embellishments would make for an amazing card share today, but I was so busy and focused on scrapbooking that I pulled out a quick CAS (clean and simple) Christmas card.  Here’s the thing though, I used the Detailed Floral Thinlits which make any CAS card stunning.

I cut out a normal base for a card in Cherry Cobbler and then used the gorgeous Detailed Floral Thinlits to create the cut out.

I cut out a piece of Smokey Slate and adhered it to the inside of the front of the card.  I then added some Lace Trim and a Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine bow to the front.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Wonder of Christmas stamp set in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out using the Layering Ovals.
