Stampin’ Up! Falling For Leaves Note Cards

I don’t usually make square cards.  In fact, I can count on my right hand how many I’ve made.

However, I thought I’d make some small thank you note cards.  I figured I’d make them 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ so they could still fit in the standard envelope.

But then I couldn’t decide what color combination to use…so I did one of each 🙂  Which one is your favorite?

I started off with one color as the base to the card, cutting it 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.

I then matted another color on Whisper White to adhere to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment from the Falling For Leaves Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.

I then used the Detailed Leaves Thinlits to cut out the detailed leaf in another color and  a Whisper White leaf to mat it on.   I also cut out a scalloped detail using the same thinlits.

Here’s a picture of all three cards today.  I really love how they came out- simple, but pretty.

Enjoy!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and The Paper Players.

  2. These are gorgeous! The leafy dies are pretty, but paired with the border and done in all three colors…it’s a hat trick for sure! Thanks for sharing these at the Players this week!
