Stampin’ Up! Year of Cheer Christmas

Is everyone ready for the weekend??

I am still away on my scrapbook/crafting weekend and it’s amazing.  I look forward to it each year.  I literally plant myself in the chair and craft.  Last year I made 86 scrapbook pages.  We’ll see if I can get there this year.

I make a scrapbook for each of my three kids and when I return they come running to the door asking to see what I’ve created.  Check out my Facebook page as I’ll be posting pictures of my layouts.

My card today is one that features lots of metallics and sparkle!

It starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I wanted to create a brick background but don’t have the embossing folder.  Instead I took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and used my Simply Scored board to create my brick effect.  I matted this on a bit of Champagne Foil Sheet and adhered it to the card front.

Next I cut out three stockings from different patterns of the Year of Cheer DSP using the Christmas Stockings Thinlits.  I added metallic touches on the stockings and bows using Silver, Champagne, and Gold Foil Sheets.  I cut out a very thin strip of Champagne Foil Sheet to “hang” them from.

I used the Washi Tape technique to stamp my sentiment from the Hang Your Stocking stamp se on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I covered the “Christmas” with a piece of Washi Tape, stamped the “Merry” in Versamark ink, took the tape off, and stamped it.  I then covered the “Merry” with a piece of Washi Tape, stamped the “Christmas,” took the tape off, and stamped it on the cardstock.  I sprinkled the words in Gold Embossing Powder and heat embossed them.

I cut out a gold snowflake using one of the stockings from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits and added some Gold Thread behind it and a Gold Enamel Dot over it.  I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the snowflake with Mini Dimensionals!
