This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is an inspirational challenge.
So immediately I thought nautical…
However (and to my shock) I don’t have any nautical stamps!
Although this has since been corrected as I bought the Sea of Textures Bundle yesterday š
So I decided to create a watercolor background inspired by the colors and look of the image.Ā My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.
I took a panel of Watercolor Paper and used an Aqua Painter to make it very wet.Ā I then used the Aqua Painter to pick up ink which I squeezed over the paper.Ā The tinted water naturally pooled and thenĀ I driedĀ it using a Heat Tool.Ā I did one color at a time so this created different shades of each color.
I did this using Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, and Pool Party ink.Ā I ran this through the Big Shot in the Seaside embossing folder and then matted it on Night of Navy cardstock.
I created my sailboat using the Swirly Bird stamp set, which I fussy cut out and adhered using Stampin Dimensionals.Ā I used Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, and Pool Party ink.Ā BehindĀ the sailboatĀ I adhered some burlap ribbon and then I stamped the sentiment from the Cake Soiree stamp set in Night of Navy.
Enjoy!

Way cool, pretty colors and great technique.
What an awesome card Jaimie! Love the background and the sweet little boat! Can’t wait to see what you make with the Sea of Textures stamp set. š
You are so creative!! I would’ve gone to another challenge but you made a beautiful card with what you had! The colors are pretty and I love the burlap. TFS.
