Valentine’s Card

Love is in the air.

You might initially think – Valentine’s Card = Hubby.  Nope.

My kids love receiving homemade cards.  For them, it’s not just about saying “I Love You,” but “Love You For Being You.”  Quite honestly, children (mine as much as yours) are amazing and need to be reminded of that!

HSS #230 Challenge

I love texture and even more so, the combination of soft and hard textures.

For the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge, I thought I would mix it all up.

I got my inspiration from a scrapbook layout I did in the fall.

Stampin Up - Scrapbook - Crochet Trim

I combined the rough burlap with the softer crochet trim.  I also combined the more masculine colors, Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron, with the more feminine flowers from the English Garden DSP, as well as the softer scalloped edge below the sentiment.

When in doubt – mix it all up!

Look for the Venetian Crochet Trim in this week’s weekly deals!  Jan 25-Feb 1.  Click on the picture below to shop the weekly deals in my store.  The Weekly Deals are only while supplies last and only available at these great prices through February 1.

CYCI#104 Challenge

For this week’s CanYouCaseIt Challenge, I went for an encouraging note.  Sometimes people just need a pick-me-up message of encouragement.

I took advantage of the fun and bright colors in the Cherry on Top DSP, highlighting Crushed Curry and Pool Party as my layering colors.  As for shapes, what better says “You Rock” than stars!

Round 2 of Mojo Monday

When I set off to participate in the Mojo Monday challenge, I had two ideas, both of which I loved.  So, alas, I couldn’t decide which one I liked more, so I made them both.

I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful Sale-A-Bration Paper, Wildflower Fields.  I used the colors Lost Lagoon and Calypso Coral to show through the stars and added the sentiment, So Proud of You.

Mojo Monday 432

I loved the Mojo Monday challenge this week.

It reminded me a bit of a scrapbook layout I did over the fall…

Onto the card…

Honestly, sometimes less color is more.  Sometimes white on white is more effective than the brightest of colors.  Using a blue palet, including Lost Lagoon, Night of Navy, and Pool party, I set out for a minimalist card that was straight to the point.  It’s subtle (and kind of hard to see here), but above the (cue Adele…) “hello” I embossed a chevron pattern.

Birthday Season

Tis the season for birthdays, many birthdays.

I like to get them done ahead of time without feeling rushed.  Needless to say, there’ll be lots of birthday cards made and sent in the next coming weeks.

Challenge: Pals Paper Arts

I had fun playing along with the Pals Paper Arts challenge this week.  Of course, it’s easy when you feel inspired by beautiful paper.

PPA-284-Jan21I used the Wildflower Fields DSP.

Why not?

There comes a time in life when you’ve always wanted to do something and you think, why not?  So I’ve decided to just jump in and go for it.

Hello my name is Jaimie, I’m from Albany, NY, and I’m a Stampin Up Demonstrator.

I love bright colors.  I love fall afternoons.  I love the sound of my kids laughing.  I love the purr of a cat.  I love living in the northeast.  I love traveling abroad.  I love blessing people with beautiful things.  I love snail mail.  And I really love crafting.  When life is a whirlwind around me, it’s what calms and energizes me.

So here we go folks, ready or not, I’m off on an adventure.  Where it will take me, not quite sure, but I’m going to enjoy the ride.

Join me in growing in our knowledge as a crafter, both in cards and scrapbooking.  Stick around to see some of my own creations.  And take advantage of the many opportunities to work together!
