Sunshine Sayings Birthday

First and foremost, wow, wow, wow – I just got a look at the 2016 Holiday Catalog.  It surely does not disappoint!  I can’t wait to start sharing some cards with you as soon as I get my hands on some pre-order items!

For today, though, I bring you some Sunshine Sayings birthday wishes.  My card starts with Dapper Denim as my base.  I layered some Pool Party over some Whisper White and stamped the “smudge” from the Sunshine Sayings Bundle in Pool Party three times in the center of it.

Next I cut out two long flowers included in the bundle in Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry and adhered them over the smudge.

Lastly I adhered a Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon around the Pool Party/Whisper White and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Rich Razzleberry.

PS – This was one of the cards we made at my August Make and Take party.  Check out my Facebook page for any current parties/clubs being offered.

Enjoy!

Scribbles & Jar of Love

I have to say the Jars of Love Stamp Set/Everyday Jars Thinlits Bundle is one of my all time favorite items from the current catalog (and to think it was the last item I bought/almost didn’t).

Today I’m using it for this week’s challenge over at The Paper Players.

pp305

I started off with Smoky Slate as my background color.  For my vertical detail, I just layered some Flirty Flamingo over Whisper White.  I went back and forth whether to add more detail to the card or leave more simple, and figured sometimes more isn’t better and left it clean and crisp.

Everyday Jars - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

Before adhering the Flirty Flamingo, I tucked behind it some Ruched Flirty Flamingo Ribbon and the sentiment which also comes from the Jar of Love Bundle.  It was stamped in Smoky Slate and snipped at the end to be a banner.

Everyday Jars - Stamp It Up With Jaimie - Stampin Up

After adhering the panel and ribbon, I created the wreath using one of the circular thinlits from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits cut out of Whisper White.  I then stamped the leaves in Old Olive, the flower in Flirty Flamingo (stamping off for lighter shade), and Smoky Slate for the ribbon, cutting each with the coordinating thinlit from the bundle.

CAS(E) Sympathy Card

Happy Wednesday!  Today’s card inspiration comes from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

CTS_182

Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette are my primary colors this card and I went clean and simple with the details.

Flourish Thinlits - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

To add some detail on the base of the card, I used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and stamped some smudges in Rich Razzleberry.  I cut out two thinlits from the Flourish Thinlits.  The Rich Razzleberry lattice I tucked under the sentiment which is from the Flourishing Phrases.

Flourish Thinlits - Stampin Up - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

The flower thinlit I cut in Pink Pirouette and then trimmed it down a bit.  I adhered it just under the sentiment and finished the card off with a few rhinestones.

Thoughtful Banners – Words

Words are so strong.  When Will and I were in children’s ministry we did a whole lesson on how our mouth is the strongest muscle we have because it has the power of life and death.

I wanted words to speak loud and clear for today’s card – Edifying and encouraging words.  Ironically enough as I was making this card, my 10-year-old came in and begged me to let her keep this card.  She loved the words on it.

My card starts with a base of Emerald Envy.  I dry embossed some Crumb Cake with the Polka Dot embossing folder and layered it over some Whisper White and adhered it over the Emerald Envy.

Thoughtful Banners - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

To create my circles, I used three different sizes from the Layering Circles Framelits and the next larger sized scalloped circle in Emerald Envy.  I took three words from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set and first stamped in the center the word in Emerald Envy.  Then I used the same word, this time stamping in Crumb Cake, around it.  Under the middle circle I added some burlap just for some texture.

Thoughtful Banners - Stamp It Up With Jaimie - Stampin Up

For the inside of my card, I covered over the top of one of the stamps from One Big Meaning (leaving just the “You” exposed) and inked it in Emerald Envy.  I then removed the washi tape and stamped the “You” in the center of the inside.

Enjoy!

Penned & Painted

So low and behold this card was supposed to be my Monday post, but, well, it just didn’t happen.  My inspiration came from the Freshly Make Sketches Challenge (which is now closed, oh well).

FMS246

This card was interesting – yes that word – it’s neither good nor bad.  I originally had one idea involving vellum and I thought it’d be pretty cool – a play on the tag and negative space.  Well voila that didn’t happen.

So this was Plan B.

My card starts with a base of Peekaboo Peach layered with some Whisper White.

Penned & Painted - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

I first stamped the two-layered flowers from the Penned & Painted Stamp Set in Peekaboo Peach (first stamping off for the lighter color)  Then I cut a 2″ tag from Whisper White and layered it over a bit of the flowers.  That way when I stamped the black outline it would cover both the tag and the card itself.  Before adhering the stamp I layered it over some Peekaboo Peach as well and strung some Black Thick Baker’s Twine through the top.

Penned & Painted - Stampin Up - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

For the sentiment detail, I first stamped the sentiment from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set in Peekaboo Peach and then used the dotted stamp included in the Penned & Painted Stamp Set to stamp around the sentiment, stamping off for the dots and then full strength for the overlapped flower.

Penned & Painted - Stamp It Up With Jaimie - Stampin UpBefore I adhered the sentiment detail, I layered it over some Peekaboo Peach cardstock and snuck in behind it some Black Thick Baker’s Twine.

Fruit Stand Sunshine

Happy Monday!  For today’s card, my inspiration comes from the Paper Craft Crew challenge!

13631574_10209712555068478_3973179648663255870_n-300x300

I started off with some Peekaboo Peach and layered it with a pattern from the Fruit Stand DSP that was cut on a diagonal.

My next layer is a banner of Watermelon Wonder.  Over that I layered a 2″ tag in So Saffron.  Through the top of it I put a piece of burlap and tied a bow using the Linen Thread.

Fruit Stand - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

Next I fussy cut two strawberries and a snippet of stem to layer over the banner and tag.

Lastly, I stamped the “Sending” from the Sunshine Sayings Bundle in Watermelon Wonder and cut out two “Sunshines” one in Watermelon Wonder and the other in Peekaboo Peach, to be layered over one another.

Because of my strawberry fussy cutting, I’m also entering the card for this week’s TGIF challenge.

Enjoy!

PRODUCT LIST:

Black, White, and Melon Mambo Card!

Last week I made a black and white card (with a hint of Bermuda Bay) and today I’m bringing you another black and white card, this time with a hint of Melon Mambo and Smoky Slate.  I’m really liking these colors together (thank you Global Design Project).

GDP045_Colour_Challenge

I started with a base of Basic Black and then layered it with some Smoky Slate.  Over the Smoky Slate, I strung around some Melon Mambo Thick Baker’s Twine.  Next I layered some Basic Black over Melon Mambo over some Whisper White.

Banners For You - Stamp It Up With Jaimi

First I stamped my sentiment (so I had a gauge of space and size for the flowers) in Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  The banners and sentiments com from the Banners For You Bundle.  This bundle is great because it really allows you to create different phrases for your sentiment.  I built my phrase using 5 separate phrases.

Banners For You - Stamp It Up With Jaimi

For my flowers, I used the various flower stamps in the Banners For You Bundle and stamped them above and below the banner in Versarmark.  (I first drew lines in pencil that could be erased so I knew whereabouts to put them.)  I heat embossed the flowers in white using the heat tool.  To adhere the banner, I used dimensionals to give it a bit of a lift.

Enjoy!
