Happy Wednesday! Hope you’re having a crafttistic (get it, craft – fantastic) week so far! It’s been one of those weeks for me and I have to say that sneaking away into my craft room to whip up some cards has kept my head clear.
Today’s layout comes from the Paper Pals #288 Challenge. With March birthdays looming around the corner, I’ll be in full birthday card mode for a while now.
I started off with a background of Watermelon Wonder layered with Whisper White and Blushing Bride. I used the beautiful Birthday Bouquet DSP as my center focus, as well as the vertical strip layered over it.
I love detail. Detail, detail, detail. Even more so, I love hidden detail (or at least detail that isn’t jumping out at you). I used the Butterfly Thinlit Dies to create the butterflies. I first made one in Blushing Bride, layered it with one in Watermelon Wonder, and then layered them both with a smaller butterfly, also from the Butterfly Thinlit Dies in vellum. Over top I used a strip of Pearl Basic Jewels.
Just as a final touch, I used some Silver Metallic Thread wrapped a few times underneath the butterfly.
My sentiment, “Happy Birthday” comes from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive. Underneath is a sliver of Vellum paper.
Enjoy!
Don’t forget about my special deal that’s going on right now until the end of February!
