Stampin’ Up! NEW We Must Celebrate Card

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

You might look at today’s card and wonder whether it’s really me here…
I assure you that it’s still me.

You see I normally do very little coloring/shading in.  And this is my third card in one week that has coloring!  I’m having so much fun.

I couldn’t help myself and had to get this new We Must Celebrate Stamp Set.  These little creatures are so adorable and can be used together, as well as stamped separately.  Today I decided to use the watercolor pencils to color them in, but I can’t wait to try the new Stampin’ Blends!

My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock.  I then cut a pattern from the Wood Textures DSP and adhered it to the card front.   I adhered a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock to the top of the card front.  I then stamped the little creatures from the We Must Celebrate Stamp Set in Archival Black ink on a piece of Watercolor Paper.

I used the Watercolor Pencils to color the creatures in.  I also used the Old Olive pencil to add some shading underneath the animals and very light Bermuda Bay above them for a sky.  I then used an Aqua Painter to evenly distribute the color.  I matted this on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhered it to the card.

I stamped the sentiment in Archival Black Ink on a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock and adhered it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
