Stampin' Up! Awesome Otters Friendship Card

All this week I’m sharing cards using items from the Sale-a-bration brochure which you can earn for free with a qualifying order.

Today’s card uses the Awesome Otters Stamp Set for this week’s “Love” theme challenge.

My card starts off with Pool Party cardstock. I then embossed another panel of Pool Party cardstock using the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folder.

I wound around some Pool Party ribbon in a bow to hide the seam from the embossing folder.

I next used the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color the otter from the Awesome Otters Stamp Set. The key is to not color in the fish! I then colored him in using Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers and a light line of Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Markers around him in the water.

For the heart you can do one of two things.
One, what I did which is to use the use the Sweet Hearts Dies and cut out a Petal Pink heart to adhere over Mr. Otter’s hands.

Option two is to color in just the otter’s hands using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, use the heart die to cut out the heart, and then fussy cut the hands out.

This is definitely not the easier of the options, but gives a better look of the otter holding the heart.

I cut the otter out using the Hippo Dies.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Special Moments Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.

To get a nice, dark black, I used my Stamparatus to be able to stamp this multiple times. I cut it out with the Layering Circles Dies.

Lastly, I added some Iridescent Rhinestones around.
