Stampin’ Up! Hydrangea Haven Acetate Card

Happy March!

Here’s hoping it behaves more like a lamb and not a lion and brings spring quickly.
Don’t get me wrong – I love me some snow.

But come March, I’m ready for tulips, sunshine, and fresh air!

I had a customer ask recently if I could make a card using the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Acetate, so here we go…

My card starts off with Purple Posy cardstock, although I cut the bottom off the front from where the acetate starts down.

I then cut a piece of the Hydrangea Mercury Acetate at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, adhering it to the Purple Posy card front. One side of this acetate has purple hues and the other side is silver. I put the silver side out.

Next, I took a pattern from the Hydrangea Hill DSP, cut it down to cover the top and bottom, matted it on Basic White cardstock, and adhered it over the acetate.

Next I stamped the “filler” image from the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set in Old Olive ink. I cut it out, as well as a Purple Posy petal detail, and Old Olive leaf detail using the Hydrangea Dies. I adhered this over the acetate using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set in Gorgeous Grape ink, cutting it out with the same dies.

On the inside, I added a piece of the same pattern of Hydrangea Hill DSP and stamped some of the flowers in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Today’s card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the acetate panel, pretty inside too! 🙂 And I’m definitely ready for some tulips…but I think it’s going to be a minute here, we’ve still got 18″+ of that white stuff on the ground!
