Today’s card is very personal for me.
It’s created with my grandparents in mind, and which I’ll be sending to my Grandma.
It reminds me of them because my grandparents had a gazebo on the side of their house. My Grandpa always loved his purple irises (which my Grandma hated) and there was always this playful banter back and forth about them.
My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.
I put a panel of Whisper White cardstock (4-1/2×5-1/2″) about 1/4 of the way into the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. When I put it through the die cutting machine, I didn’t wind it all the way through. I then took a piece of sponge and Gray Granite ink and very lighthandedly wiped the embossed bricks to add some color.
Underneath the bricks I stamped the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set in Highland Heather ink.
Next I used the My Meadow Stamp Set to create my scene using Gray Granite (gazebo), Old Olive (grass, leaves, stems), Soft Suede (tree trunk), and Highland Heather (flowers) ink. I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut it out.
I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut out a Purple Posy circle and Highland Heather scalloped circle to layer underneath the scene.
Enjoy!
