Stampin’ Up! Best Catch Father’s Day Card

I’ve said it lots of times…and I’ll keep saying it…
I love the Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I am not a huge watercolor-er, but I find the blends to be very forgiving and user-friendly.  And when you’re unsure how to color something – just check the catalog!

That’s what I used to color my fish today.

My card starts off with Crumb Cake cardstock.  I then stamped the “Father’s Day” from the Well Said Stamp Set and the fisherman image from the Best Catch Stamp Set in Crumb Cake ink on the card front.

I then cut a panel of Mossy Meadow cardstock and embossed it using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  I adhered a piece of Burlap across the front of it.

I then stamped the fish from the Best Catch Stamp Set in Memento Black ink and colored it in using Stampin’ Blends Markers (Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral).  I cut it out using the coordinating Catch of the Day Dies.

Lastly I stamped the “Happy Father’s Day” from the Well Said Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White cardstock.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Father’s Day Video Tutorial

Yay for it being Wednesday!

That means I’ll be going live tonight with another Facebook Live Tutorial.  Last week I made the card below and I have another masculine birthday card for you tonight.

Be sure to join me at 7:30 pm EST!  If you catch it live and leave a comment, at the end I’ll draw a name for someone to receive tonight’s card!

Today’s card is super easy to make – the Designer Series Paper does all the work…well, with the help of a little fussy cutting on your part.

For my example I made a Father’s Day card, but in the video I turned it into a birthday card.  The Well Said Stamp Set is so versatile that you can pretty much make any sort of sentiment needed.

Be sure to join me tonight.  The masculine birthday card I’ll make uses a new technique that I tried out.  I’d love to know what you think!

To see how I created today’s card, click the video below.  If you ever miss any of my videos, you can always see all of them on my YouTube Channel.

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Card – Truly Tailored

The third Thursday of each month the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop will be joining Sandi MacIver and her Happy Stampers Blog Hop for a combined blog hop!  Happy hopping!

As participants we could choose between the sketch challenge and color challenge – I chose to use both!

My card starts off with Night of Navy cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and using a Sponge Brayer and Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide, and Crumb Cake inks, I “painted” on the three colors.

I then ran the cardstock through the Big Shop in the Hexagons embossing folder to give it some texture.  To emphasize the texture even more, I used the Sponge Brayer again ( and went over the cardstock which made the edges of the hexagons a darker shade.

Next I layered a piece of Night of Navy corduroy ribbon over a small pattern from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Tailored Tag Punch which is sticking around in the new Annual Catalog – yay!

Enjoy!

Updates & Father’s Day Card

It’s that time of the year (well almost at least) and Father’s Day is right around the corner.  End of the school year is a bit crazy around here, so I was glad to be able to say that this card is done and ready.

For today’s card I started with some Thick Whisper White.  I layered 2/3 of the card with Tip Top Taupe and the other 1/3 with Island Indigo.  I then cut a strip of Mint Macaron to cover the seam.

I then placed a pattern of Tip Top Taupe from the Cherry on Top DSP over the left of the card matted in Whisper White.

Going Global - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

I took my inspiration for this card’s layout from the Mojo Monday challenge and the color scheme from the Global Design Project challenge.

I then used the Going Global stamp set to stamp the world in Island Indigo and the sentiment in Mint Macaron matted over Tip Top Taupe.

Enjoy!

World’s Best Dad Card

I’m in love with this beautiful Going Places Designer Series Paper! I love the more masculine designs and colors.  When I saw it, I knew I just had to have it – 1: Because we do a lot of traveling as a family and it will be great for scrapbooking and 2: My husband LOVES old world maps so for Father’s Day cards and birthday cards for him – this is perfect!

For today’s card, I started off with a background of Delightful Dijon.  I then layered it with a page from the Going Places DSP.

Going Global - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

My stamped globe, as well as the sentiment is from the Going Global Stamp Set.  I knew I wanted the sentiment “World’s Best Dad” and the arrows as well, but they were on different stamps.  First I stamped the “World’s Best Dad” in Basic Black.  Then, I covered the other sentiment with Washi Tape (so as to just show the arrows) and inked the stamp.  Then I removed the Washi Tape and stamped the arrows under the “World’s Best Dad” sentiment.

Washi Tape - Stamp It Up With Jaimie

For the layered look, I used other designs from the Going Places DSP in Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Delightful Dijon and then finished off with a touch of Linen Thread.

Enjoy!
