Stampin’ Up! Cherish the Season Christmas Card

The card I shared on Friday uses my favorite Christmas Designer Series Paper, the ‘Tis The Season Designer Series Paper.

It uses traditional colors and great patterns – perfect for holiday card making and projects – and it has quickly become my favorite!

My card starts off with Shaded Spruce cardstock, on which I adhered a pattern from the ‘Tis The Season Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the sentiment from the Wrapped in Christmas in Versamark ink on Real Red ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and adhered it down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then stamped the bells from the Cherish the Season Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Whisper White cardstock, sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I used the coordinating Sounds of the Season Dies to cut out the smaller bell and fussy cut out the larger bells.  I adhered them down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the same dies to cut out a couple of sprigs from Shaded Spruce cardstock and tied a Real Red knot over it.

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Holly

Fussy cutting…

You either hate it or love it.  I didn’t like it for the longest time, but I’ve come to really enjoy it and find it relaxing.

However, the Joyful Holly Stamp Set really put my skills to the test.

My card starts off with Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  I then matted a pattern from the ‘Tis the Season Designer Series Paper on Whisper White cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Joyful Holly Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Cherry Cobbler cardstock, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Dies.

I adhered down a Vellum Square Doily and adhered the sentiment over it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the outline image from the Joyful Holly Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.  I stamped the holly in Shaded Spruce and the berries in Cherry Cobbler ink and then cut it out using with Paper Snips.

If you’re fussy cutting – you NEED these scissors.  They’re super sharp and small which makes it easy to get in tight spaces.

Thanks for checking out my project today!

Stampin’ Up! All Things Fabulous Card Video Tutorial

I really do love soft, feminine cards with sweet details.

And that’s what I created last week for my live tutorial, which I’m sharing with you today.

Today’s card uses the All Things Fabulous Bundle with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.  The All Things Fabulous Stamp Set is a sweet one because it’s multi-step stamping which allows for different variations of colors to be stamped to give the flower more detail.

I’ll be back tonight at 7:30 EST on my Facebook Page with another live tutorial!  Join me live and you might just win tonight’s card!

If you ever miss a video tutorial, you can check them out on my YouTube channel.

Stampin’ Up! Back to School Ridiculously Awesome Card

This year we’ve decided to homeschool our kids.  Lots went into this decision, but we’re pretty excited for the year ahead!

Each year for the kids’ first day of school I always put a handmade card in their lunch box.  I like to think it’s a surprise, but I’ve done it for so long, I don’t think they’re very surprised anymore.

Although this year I didn’t put their card in a lunch box, I did put it next to their school books.  When they went to grab their books this morning for our first day of school, I think, for the first time in a long time, they were surprised.

Maybe they thought because we were homeschooling, they wouldn’t get a card, but this mama wouldn’t skip a year, not even if it’s at home.

Their three cards all used the same layout, but different colors.
For my girl who loves blue…

My card starts off with Misty Moonlight cardstock which I embossed using the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment and lines from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana ink.  I cut this out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and matted it on Coastal Cabana cardstock.

I used the Stitched Stars Dies to cut out starburst from Coastal Cabana cardstock and two stars from a Coastal Cabana Designer Series Paper pattern.  To make the starburst fit the entire width of the card, I snipped it and hid the seam behind the sentiment.

I then used the same layout, but used Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade for my girl who loves red…

And for my boy, I used Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight…

Thanks for checking out my projects today!!

Stampin’ Up! Spotlight Technique Celebrate Sunflowers Card

For today’s card I used the Spotlight Technique with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set.

It’s super easy but has a really cool effect.

My card starts off with Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set on it in Memento Black ink.

TIP:  When stamping, I used the Stamparatus.  This allowed for exact placement when stamping on the card front, as well as stamping on the triangles.

I then cut out three triangles using the Stitched Triangles Dies.  I stamped the same sunflower image on them in Memento Black ink.  I colored the images using the Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I adhered them over the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Well Said Stamp Set in Versamark ink on Cajun Craze cardstock.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I used a special technique to make the die fit the sentiment.

To see how you can adjust the die to make it fit a smaller (or larger) sentiment, you can check out this video (go to about 10 mins in).

Next to the one triangle, I added a couple of Cinnamon Cider Enamel Dots.

Thanks for checking out my project today!
Be sure to swing by my store to grab the makings so you can make it as well.

Stampin’ Up! Simple So Much Happy Birthday Card

Today I have a relatively simple birthday card that can work for just about anyone!

Or if you wanted to make it more feminine or masculine, you could just switch up the colors.

My card starts off with Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the balloons and strings from the So Much Happy Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight ink.

I then matted this on Calypso Coral cardstock.

I stamped the “happy” from the So Much Happy Stamp Set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.  I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.   I stamped the birthday in Calypso Coral ink and fussy cut it out.

Lastly I used the coordinating Happy Dies to add a few stars to the balloons.

Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches Friend Card

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

My card starts off with Purple Posy cardstock which I embossed using the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.

I then matted a pattern from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper on Crumb Cake cardstock and wound a Linen Thread bow around it.

I used the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to cut out a label.  I then stamped the branch from the Birds & Branches Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink and the flowers in Highland Heather ink.  I stamped the sentiment from the Free As A Bird Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink and adhered a Purple Posy Enamel butterfly next to it.

I stamped the smaller image of the bird and feet in Gray Granite ink.  I stamped the larger image of the bird in Gray Granite ink also, just stamping off first for a lighter shade.  I cut them out using the Birds & More Dies.

To make the eye darker, I just used a Gray Granite Stampin’ Write Marker.

Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Blank Card

Sunflowers and plaid…yes please!!

Looking at this card, I can almost feel fall in the air….well, that is if it wasn’t still hotter than anything out there.

My card starts off with Cajun Craze cardstock.  I then adhered over it a plaid pattern from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper.  I then matted a pattern from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper on Cajun Craze cardstock.

I stamped the sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set in Memento Black ink.  I colored it in using Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pin (sunflower), Old Olive (leaves), Soft Suede (center) Stampin’ Blends Markers and cut it out with the coordinating Sunflowers Dies.

I used the same dies to cut out sprigs from Pretty Peacock cardstock and leaves from Old Olive cardstock.  Underneath the flower I wound around some Gold Thread and adhered it over a Gold Hoop.

I couldn’t decide where to place the sentiment, so I ended up leaving the front blank and just adding a thank you sentiment to the inside.

Thanks for checking out my project today!
