Fall – Everyday Jars

You’ve made it – Happy Friday!  Congrats!  I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead of you.

I wanted today’s card to have the feel of fall, warm and cozy, without necessarily screaming fall, so here we go…

My card uses warm colors, starting with Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and a pattern from the Fruit Stand DSP.  (This beautiful Designer Series Paper is part of the October DSP deal, see below.)  To start off, I cut a strip of burlap which I placed toward the bottom of the card and snuck in a piece of a delicate white doily behind it.

jar-of-love-stamp-it-up-with-jaimieNext, I created my little cluster to the right.  I punched a 1.5″ banner in Tangerine Tango using the Triple Banner Punch and layered it with some vellum.

Then I used the stem/flower framelit from the Everyday Jars Framelits for my flowers cut in Watermelon Wonder, Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and Daffodil Delight.  I used by bone folder to flatten out the “negative” side because I didn’t want all the flowers facing the same way.

Finally I tied a linen bow around the bundle of flowers.

Next I heat embossed the Happy Birthday in white embossing powder using the sentiment from the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set.

Enjoy!

My card layout was inspired by the challenge over at Stamp Ink Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Pines

untitled

Welcome to this week’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  This week we have a great sketch to be our guide.

I saw that middle circle and immediately knew I wanted to do a belly band…

…So I started with a base of Garden Green layered with Gold Foil Sheet and Cherry Cobbler.  I then used the gorgeous Pretty Pines Thinlits to create a cluster in the upper left corner using Garden Green, Old Olive, Gold, and Cherry Cobbler.

christmas-pines-stamp-it-up-with-jaimieNext I created the belly band using the Layering Circles, the sentiment from the Wonder of Christmas Stamp Set, and some more Gold Foil (is it possible to have too much gold on a Christmas card?!).

christmas-pines-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-up

Honestly, I was going to leave it at that, but when I showed my 10-year-old girl the card, she said – Mommy, you have to have something under the band.  So, why not.  I took another sentiment from the Wonder of Christmas and stamped it in Green Garden on Cherry Cobbler and did some more layering underneath.

Enjoy!

Flourishing Phrases – Just a Note

My card developed first because I knew I wanted to participate in the challenge over at Global Design Project this week.  It’s a RAK challenge – Random Acts of Kindness.  These are my FAVORITE cards!  I love to send a card just because, when the person doesn’t expect it, when it’s purpose is to uplift and encourage and send some love.

gdp055-theme

Then I needed some layout inspiration, so I went for The Paper Players challenge.

pp314

My card starts with a pattern from the Blooms & Bliss DSP layered on Sweet Sugarplum.  Then I took another pattern from the same DSP and layered it on Blushing Bride.

flourishing-phrases-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

I then used the Flourishing Phrases bundle to cut out a Blushing Bride large flower and three leaves to layer over the DSP.

I stamped probably one of my favorite sentiments of all time, “Just a Note,” in Rich Razzleberry on Blushing Bride and adhered it below the flower.  I added a few rhinestones throughout the card to add a little bling.

Enjoy!

Totally Trees – Birthday

Before I show you my card, I first need to show you my inspiration, this week’s challenge over at Sunday Stamps.

ssc136f

Okay, now that I’ve showed you that, we can move on to my card…

I started with Early Espresso as my base and layered it with Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla.

totally-trees-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

I then took the Woodgrain embossing folder and dry embossed a piece of Crumb Cake and cut it into 3 separate pieces.  I took a pattern from the Petals & Paisleys and cut it in a strip and layered it with some Very Vanilla Lace Trim.

totally-trees-stampin-up-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

Next I used the Totally Trees Stamp Set to create my tree which I cut out using the Layering Oval Framelits.  I initially wanted to do the Baby Wipe Technique; however, I realized you have ink refills for this technique.  So, I made my twist on this technique.  I used a dry paper towel and picked up some color (Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze) on it and just kind of smeared the stamp in different spots with each other and voila!

I created my sentiment using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set in Pumpkin Pie.

Enjoy!

Confetti! Celebration Birthday

Happy Monday!!

I hope you had a great weekend!  Here in Upstate New York fall is in the air and it’s wonderful.  Cooler days, warm sun, and great family time!

My card today was inspired by the pretty color challenge over at Paper Craft Crew this week.

13932903_10209951457960901_8605975123678201328_n-300x300

My card starts with Tangerine Tango as my base.  I then layer it with Whisper White and Emerald Envy which I dry embossed with Polka Dot embossing folder.

confetti-celebration-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

For my sentiments and stamping, I used the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set.  I stamped a bunch of stars in Night of Navy on Crushed Curry, matted on Night of Navy.  Over that, I stamped the “Yay” in Night of Navy and used the framelit dies to cut it out and dimensionals to adhere it.

confetti-celebration-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-up

Lastly, I created a cluster of banners using Vellum, Crushed Curry, and the “Happy Birthday” stamped in Emerald Envy.  I added a Night of Navy Baker’s Twine bow to finish it off.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Cozy Trees

Today’s card share is inspired by this week’s challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and Fab Friday.fms-final-255-001fabfri-003My card uses Delightful Dijon as its base which I dry embossed using the Softly Falling embossing folder.

stitched-with-cheer-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

Then I layered Very Vanilla on Emerald Envy and stamped the larger tree from the Foxy Friends in Emerald Envy and then the smaller tree in Emerald Envy (stamping off first).  I used the masking technique to give a sense of depth to the trees.

stitched-with-cheer-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-up

Lastly I cut out a strip of the Delightful Dijon Ribbon from the Trio Pack and after deciding the placement of it, I stamped the sentiment from the Stitched with Cheer in Delightful Dijon above it.  These colors felt like a cozy fall evening which is why I chose that sentiment.  Fall is in the air!!

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Petals & Paisleys

untitled

Welcome to this week’s Happy Stampers Blog Hop.  Today we bring you a fun color challenge.

14067473_10210503222365126_1412953050962586921_n

This color combination is so yummy and totally speaks to the Petals & Paisleys Suite.

One of the great features of this suite is the Designer Series Paper which I’m in love with, but also the great Ribbon Trio Pack.  I really wanted to showcase both.

I did a few different layering of cardstock using Delightful Dijon, Rich Razzleberry, a pattern from the Paisleys & Posies DSP, Mint Macaron, and Very Vanilla.

paisleys-posies-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie

Next I took the Ribbon Trio and weaved them through each other horizontally and vertically over the Very Vanilla.

paisleys-posies-stamp-it-up-with-jaimie-stampin-up

To finish off the card, I stamped and cut out one of the flowers from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Bundle stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  I covered the top words from the sentiment in washi tape, inked the stamp up in Delightful Dijon, and then removed the washi tape leaving only the word “Blessed”.  I cut out a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock to place behind the sentiment and added a Linen bow.

Enjoy!
